Ledley at left back would be suicide. Would rather Matthews, Rogne, Wanayma and Mulgrew than that.

However still think Izzy should start.

    What? :97:

Ledley has played brilliantly at left back many many times for us. You don't get much more reliable.

For a match as important as this i'd feel more secure with a natural left back (Izzy) or someone like Mulgrew before a midfielder. I was never convinced about Ledley at LB to be honest, always seemed a little too eager to do his midfield job which is to ALWAYS be in space and availible for a pass, it's very helpful in the middle of the park but will get you caught out in defence.

Only if it is against a team we aren't expecting to attack us. His positioning his awful at left back.

Ledley's positional sense at left-back is beyond woeful. If he plays there, they will exploit it. Ledley has rarely had a good game in that position, to suggest otherwise is grossly inaccurate.

i really dont know what team will take to the field and where players will play. think NL is a bit confused now and i have no confidence if we will perform or not.

if i was to guess i think he will play wanyama at the back whether that is a good thing or not (hes def best in mid) i dont know. as i said think NL is confused what to do, play brown in the mid, on the right, or on the bench, forrest out wide or on the bench, commons on left, in the middle or out right, samaras on the left, up front or keep him to come on later. ledley left mid in the middle, or left back. its * all over the place and its a toss of the coin if it will work whatever he chooses

Why would we play a CM at LB when we have 2 proper left backs fit (4 if you include Blackman and Twardzik)?? Makes no sense

This is a Champions League qualifier, we need to win this , we cannot afford to take gambles. He may have played "brilliantly" (in my opinion debatable) on a few occasions but for me we need a defender at full back.

its NL we are talking about and hes done this before on a number of ocassions albeit when izzy was out. but izzy has just not been his self since his injury he might well do it again. esp as he doesnt know what to do with all his midfield players

    I would say:

    Forster
    Matthews - Wanyama - Rogne - Mulgrew - Izaguirre
    Kayal - Ledley
    Forrest - Hooper - Samaras/Commons

    Or:

    "
    "
    Brown - Kayal - Ledley
    Samaras
    Hooper

NL has a headache for picking this team
for me its two positions that are causing it left back and centre back

we cannot play vic at cb and cannot play led at left back they are cm players and playing them at the back in my view will cost us this tie

izzy needs to stand up and be counted cause he is slipping away and play rogne and mulgrew and cb and we r laughing

    forster
    matthews rogne mulgrew izzy
    wanyama
    forrest kayal ledley
    commons
    hooper

We need our bhoys to go out there and play with courage and without inhibition. That can only happen by picking the best players in their correct positions.

I think Celtic will go out tomorrow and the reasons are -

Celtic should have got a couple of players in for the qualifiying i read that Lennon wouldnt get money for players unless we got into the group stage but i fear it will be too late, he should of been given money to get a couple of players for the qualifying game and play off match.

The other problem is HJK have played about 20 matches we have played just 2 and the Aberdeen game was *.

But i hope i'm wrong and Celtic do get into the play-offs.

    Forster

    Matthews Rogne Mulgrew Izzy

    Forrest Wanyama Kayal/Brown Ledley

    Commons

    Samaras

That is what I think is a defensive team that has a load of attacking options and can easily be altered depending on what happens in the match.

Personally I would like Hooper and Samaras up front, drop forrest for brown and play wanyama kayal and ledley in midfield which again is a safer option but the players will feel more confident playing in a formation that they usually play in.

Sometimes I think we * about with the team far to much for away games andget it absolutely wrong.

Can't help but feel a bit jittery after all the Euro away disasters we've had before. That said, last year in the Europa League (apart from those cheating bassa's Sion) I thought those three group games were the best we've played away from home in Europe for a long time.

Score the first goal and we should be fine, but can't help thinking we'll end up conceding a daft goal from a corner after 2 minutes and make it tougher than it has to be as usual.

Expecting wanyama kayal brown and ledley all to play. For me they have the most crucial job. Wanyama and Kayal must chase everything and break down attacks. If these 2 dont get it right it will be the same old story.

Really looking forward to this one. Not really nervous yet but I hate all the waiting for the KO to come around.

Mentioned a few pages back that Deviln's line up #253 was spot on. I reckon Lennon will route for 4-5-1 though:

    Forster

    Matthews
    Rogne
    Mulgrew
    Izzy

    Commons
    Brown
    Wanyama
    Ledley
    Samaras

    Hooper

4-5-1 technically with Samaras supporting Hoops from left. Avoid conceding an early goal and take any chances whenever they come along.

HJK Helsinki 1 Celtic 1 (Ledley) COYBIG!
