Gutted all the same as, like it or not, he is an influential player for us.
Miss his energy at times and that showed on Saturday against Aberdeen.

 

Lennon tends to favour Hooper up top always even when not in the greatest run of form. As it showed last Wednesday against Helsinki he may be struggling in a match but a single chance comes along he's very likely to take it.

 

If we can get through the first half without conceding a goal, then I think we will go through from there. Our main problem in recent seasons with qualifying away from home has been losing the early goals and then the players' confidence being knocked. That diddy Majstorovic last season against Sion for starters, giving away the penalty and getting sent off within the first two minutes.

Ideally, we would want to go out and get the away goal as soon as possible, but it remains to be seen how Lenny will set up. I want us to attack them, as we've always hammered the old Rangers for playing anti football, but at the same time, we can't afford to get too cocky and for them to catch us on the counter and score two or three into us.

What is this theory of yours based on?

Sammy was arguably a contender for Celtic's Player of The Year last year, had a reasonable Euro's and imo played well in spells against Helsinki.

My theory is based on my eyes..hes a bluffer..has no first touch..does nothing for the team..nice guy maybe but im a celtic fan and have watched a lot of poor players in the hoops and he has to be among the worst..we currently have far superior players to him in the squad who dont get the game time that Samaras gets...What Lennons sees in him has me baffled now for a long time

Samaras set up ourf first goal against Helsinki and he was our top assister last year.

I don't get it samaras was quality for the first 60 mins. Sure he went downhill but tiredness etc will play a part. Sammy is quality end of.

I take it you didn't watch us too much last season then? Or at the weekend, when prior to coming off, Sammy looked out best hope of unlocking that Aberdeen defence?
