Hey everyone ! Or should I say "Bonjour" !
Yes, I'm French, and I'll explain you my "story". I've always liked Scottish football mainly due to my love to Scotland. A few years ago I started to support Rangers, as their website was just better than Celtic's ! Yes I know that's stupid but at the time I knew not much about Scotland nor about Scottish football...
Anyway, some years have passed, and now I'm fully aware of the state of Scottish football. I have only supported rangers football-wise (as I explained before I started supporting them without knowing its protestant/british history), indeed as a proud Frenchman I just don't like the english and all my family is Catholic Anyway I kept on supporting them. I even joined a rangers forum on the web. The fact is that I realised how were my fellow rangers fans, I realised their Catholic hatred (I don't care much about religion but it just shows how people are narrow-minded), and their natural dislike of the french because they are british... Of course they are not all like that, many of them liked me and others did not hate the catholic, so I kept on supporting rangers.
Last week I visited Ireland, and I really fell in love with this country ! I already love Scotland much, but now I'm having an affair with Ireland
Anyway, in Ireland I realised how much people loved Celtic. I hope what I've just written make sense, but I just want to explain that I'm starting to support celtic and reject rangers thanks to my love for Ireland and because of the behaivour of some rangers fans towards the French and the Catholics !
Now it's a little bit complex for me, I've always supporting a football club football-wise (as I don't like the english and I'm not protestant, and I don't support the IRA but I'm a supporter of the Irish freedom), but now I in an in-between positionas Celtic is just the perfect link between my love for Ireland and Scotland !
It may be stupid to write all this, but I feel the urge to do a mea-culpa ! (hope you also say that in english).
Also pardon my English, as it is not my first language and I've written this in quite a hurry.
