A real lack of confidence shown today. Is that first 11 capable of beating Hearts, of course it is, so what the * is going on?

A big day for Kouassi to turn up and show his strengths... The lad doesn’t seem to have any!! He was bailed out far too often by Broony and Broony should have been giving him pelters, but he said nothing!? Save the worst for private sure, but there’s still a game to be won.

Sinclair didn’t offer enough again. I hate seeing him on the team sheet now, but due to lack of depth he’ll keep getting games. Travesty.

I love Griff, I really do, and I know he’s put on the park to score, but a couple of times he got too greedy when better options were on for a chance at goal. He looked desperate today, but team comes first Griff.

Our defence got bullied by an ex Cambridge Utd player, who eventually set up the goal after running past 2 players as if they weren’t there.

Naismith needed a right good message and no one gave him it. Hendry tried late in and almost split himself in two. No fight, no guile, NO points.

The only plus is that this may spur the Bhoys on for Athens and give us a win or die performance.

That was really disappointing. Forget all the stuff that's happening behind the scenes for a second. We didn't cope with Hearts physicality. We didn't match their tempo, aggression or desire to win the second balls. We didn't pass the ball well enough, we didn't create anything and too many of our players looked rattled and riled.

On a strategic level, the board should be asking some serious questions of themselves. Every year we roll the dice with Champions League qualification because of our inability/unwillingness to get quality in early. Over the last two years the manager has banked a lot of cash for the club, and has proven his track record of improving players who looked all but done at Celtic (Brown, Forrest, McGregor, Boyata, Armstrong). Surely, if there was ever a time to push the boat out - it's now?!

It's unacceptable that we could finish this transfer window with a weaker squad than the one that finished last season, but that's where we're heading. It's imperative that we strengthen our grip on the League. Other clubs are spending money to improve, we have to do the same.

Just about sums it up really.

This was a bad week for us and it could get worse next week.

Hard to imagine but looking at today's performance it looked as a team, we didn't want it as much as hearts.

This is a tough time as a fan and we are hurting and i hope the board, management, and team get their heads together and sort things out.

We all know whats required from the board (still should have won today regardless)and if the manager isnt backed i fear we could be in for a hard season.

Worst thing for me - Naismith bossed us and swaggered off sniggering coz not one of our players would say boo to a mouse.

Hendry tried weakly to slice him at the end and ended up just getting laughed at.

This Naismith * was easy for us almost a decade ago before his legs were even going.

We didn't deserve anything from that game, they out fought us and wanted it more. Poor game from alot of our players.

However you win * all in August and I'd rather we lose now than at end of season when it may well cost us more.

Exactly, we should have wrapped the game up then brought key players off, not the other way around.

So pulling a jersey in the penalty area could have been a penalty if the linesman seen it but probably not because nobody complained. Skys expert punditry at its best

Did you see who the linesman was today? He was never seeing it even if he was looking straight at it

Looks like another year of us standing still and the rest of the league catching up. The signs were there last year when we lost to Hearts and when we were struggling to beat teams like St. Johnstone. The board will like to think they have strengthened the team during the summer but we have signed players who were already here last year and part of the stagnation. Edouard is great and I'm glad he has signed permanently but the board will look at his signing as the investment in the team regardless of the fact that most of his fee was recouped by selling Armstrong.

BR allegedly identified a left sided defender who could play in the middle and cover at left back. Hendry looked uncomfortable playing there against Athens and he looks much better on his preferred right hand side. So the boards answer to this is to bring back Izzy a great servant to the club but if this is how they want to operate BR won't be at Celtic Park much longer and that isn't good enough.

The board always seem to want to wait until we get to the CL group stages before they strengthen so they aren't risking money but even when we have made the CL group stages they haven't strengthened the team either. They have not ambition at all. According to BR he has identified targets that will add quality to the squad and not be bench warmers. If we added a couple of players like that we could be challenging in the group stages instead of just looking at the Europa League spot so we can stay in Europe. The Europa League by that stage of the competition has mostly teams that were in the CL and then we struggle against them due to not having the quality to beat them.

The league is going to be much harder to win this year and this result today has shown that we are in for a tough season.

    Completely devoid of ideas.

Just like last season. Kick up the * for the board.

    * woeful.

The people saying we should be beating Hearts anyway with the squad we have are 100% spot on.

However, the blame for the cloud of negativity surrounding the club just now lies with our board.

New quality signings aren’t just there to improve the quality of the squad. They are brought in and give extra motivation to everyone else in the squad and gives eveyone a new point to prove.

Our team is stale. We were absolutely rotten in the league last year and the performances in the cup semi final and final, and the game to win the league glossed over it.

However nothing surprises me with Lawwell and this shitehouse of a board. If we didn’t get beat on penalties by the Huns in the semi final we’d still be struggling along with Ronny with Carlton Cole as our second striker.

Time after time after time we have the opportunity to make a major investment and put broad daylight between our domestic rivals and make inroads in Europe and they let us down every time.
