Cant wait to see Elvis captain us out tomorrow against the jambos.

 

Elvis won't captain the side, and fucksake I wouldn't make him captain in a million years! He was brought here as an emergency replacement, and has played 2 games. You have to earn the armband here, he can't just walk into the team and get it.

 

your speaking as a passionate fan who hasnt quite accepted that big pressley now wears the hoops.

strachan will decide who is best suited to be a leader on the park today.
it may well be elvis. strachs will make a clinical decision on who captains the side.
and it wont be based on length of service. it'll be based on who can do the job the best.... dunno if elvis IS the best but he certainly has the experience.

 

I think the captain has to have earned the respect of his follow players before he can do it. Pressley hasn't been at the club long enough to do that just yet.

 

i imagine elvis has fitted in well with the squad... the players will respect his experience and he comes accross as a nice big fella. you may well be right in terms of him captaining the side as hes a newcomer. but i still feel boruc is isolated back on the goal line and .... lightbulb over the head moment.... i'd give it to naylor... his consistency and committment should be rewarded

 

No no I had no problem in signing Pressley but making him captain in his third game is far too much for me

 

but we signed him to utilise his experience... so shouldnt we use it.
to be honest even if he's not got the armband he'll boss the defence anyway.... its what he does.

Riordan has got to play and he will play at attacking midfield left as that is where he is suited to strachan says I think
