Hayato Inamura

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by The Crow, Jul 4, 2025.

  1. Could be important for us off the bench if BR wants to go inverted he looks very suited to that or if we are struggling to beat a press he looks very calm and great range of passing. Still seem to be in for a ledt back though so maybe the plan is still a loan move.

Falkirk would be a decent shout, play good football ane his defending will be tested plenty

Mental how folk thought he’d be * because of the price

  3. To be fair they say the same about Idah and Engels.

Price is a of course important but what a player contributes is the ultimate factor.

Don’t judge a player on price just silly

Wasn't really the price that underwhelmed me it was more that its not a place famed for great defenders. Will see how he fairs, it is still early days.

    Technique wise he's brilliant though.

Could be ideal as back up LB with scope to move into CB when he’s more adjusted to the physicality of the league.

Saves us signing a CB and a LB, Lawwell would be proud :fear:

Would have been interesting to see him lining up with Kyogo. Wee man was always making darts in behind and was very rarely picked out

  10. I hope Daizen can introduce him to his stylist because he really needs a makeover. Apart from that, Welcome Hayato!

  11. Have to say I have liked what I have seen from Inamura so far in pre-season. Its early days yet but he looks like he could be just what we need as cover for Tierney at left back for the season.

  12. I would have him starting the way he has been playing so far

    Over Tierney??

  14. Yes m8. Think he be faster and Tierney would be ideal last 30 mins or so. Just.my thoughts

KT overlapping Maeda will rip any defence apart, Inamura has been surprisingly good but zero chance he starts over KT unless he’s getting a rest.

I think the good side of it is that we may actually have a dependable back up so we can rotate him and KT more often to keep him fit.

  16. Yeah agreed, it's important we play it safe with KT to keep him fit. No reason why Inamura couldn't play 20 games or so across the season.

    Can't spell Inamura without ira.

  18. Worth bearing in mind he was half way through the season in Japan so is much more sharp than any of the players he's played against so far. We saw against Newcastle how much that can affect players

  19. Exactly why maeda must start as our striker. Why then would we want maeda edge of the box as the ball gets whipped in. Need to have a technically creative player out wide who can produce from the edge of the box
