Crazy the way people's minds work. I've heard other stories of people who have tidied the house/paid all their bills etc before attempting suicide or committing suicide. You would think if someone was so fed up with life that they were going to end it all that things like cutting the grass/tidying the house would be the last thing on their mind.

Scary story though, Bob. Good job your friends happened to turn up when they did.

It is an uncomfortable subject to discuss with friends of family but sometimes that is exactly what we need to help us out. Believe me however uncomfortable you would feel discussing this with someone close they have your best interests at heart and aren't going to judge you in any way shape or form. Of course a trained professional can help, it is their job after all, but I found a heart to heart with a good friend was all I needed.

My friend who commited suicide in 09 actually gave himself a haircut and washed his trainers before he hung himself. I dunno I guess they just like everything to be in order before they carry out the act; definitely strange that stuff like that would be on your mind before you done something like that.

Aye, get what you mean. Have actually spoken to my mum a bit about this but there's things I just don't feel like telling her if you know what I mean, don't want her going all hysterical... I currently don't have any real close friends I feel like I can talk about stuff like this with. A shrink doesn't know you, so would feel more comfortable talking about these things with him/her..

If you don't have someone close who you feel comfortable speaking with then the shrink is definitely your best bet. You need to speak with someone about how you are feeling as it's the only way you will ever feel better - sometimes even just saying the words out loud to someone else will make you feel 10 times better. I am lucky enough that I have a few close friends and it was one of them approached me about how I was feeling, said she had noticed for a while I wasn't myself and what was up. I opened up to her with how I was feeling and to be honest I felt a weight lift off my shoulders straight away.

I know it's cliche but if you ever wanna drop me a PM mate feel free to do so, happy to have a chat with you or even just listen to your thoughts. It's amazing the difference a conversation can make :50:

Doesn't sound gay in the slightest it is generally stuff like what you are worried about that troubles most people. I felt for a while that there was no point in my life; I have a well paid job and a good group of friends but no significant other and no kids. Felt like if I was to dissappear then who would it really effect?

It is a stupid thing to think because at the end of the day your family and friends are what really matters in life and of course if you were to dissappear they'd be broken.

Quite shocked at the number of people who have considered it. I always knew it was a lot more prevalent than you'd lead yourself to believe as so many people keep it to themselves and often show no signs.

Kinda makes me a bit wary, granted I'm only 21 but I genuinely have never felt anything close to what I imagine some people have felt. It's not that I've had a breeze of a life so far, some * things have happened but I always just think that it could be far worse. I just can't imagine what goes through peoples minds in these situations, but I suppose that's the madness of it all, it seems there doesn't necessarily have to be an event/events that kick-start this train of thought. To be fair, I've always been told that I'm really laid back and easy going but I fear it might all hit me in the future because it seems far more common than some people think.

Haven't really read the whole thread so I don't know who has all said they've suffered from these feelings. Hopefully though you all get the help you need, the only advice I've ever heard people give is to talk to people, exercise and take up new hobbies. All probably easier said than done though.

Good luck with it anyway lads :50:

To be fair, if you were standing on the edge, I'd be screaming for you to jump. Hit you a boot on the volley when you fell towards the ground too for good measure, you *.
