Aye Jim, but the goals are mainly scored against pish opposition. (btw I am THE sites Hartson anti-christ)

Hatricks against livi are great, but a single spl goal against teh huns in 4 matches would be better.

With all the injuries within the squad at the moment why is that its only decent players that injured. Is it because they push themselves to the limit?

Maybe thats why jabba is still on the park. Honestly now, does anyone think if this guy really tried hard and broke a sweat he might do some damage to that body?

I would like to see him off the park and a few of the hungry fringe players given a chance. Not just 20 mins or so.

If jabba showed half (and I mean half) the passion and determination that Prso or Novo showed, I think we would have won the league weeks ago.

i go along with what your saying there, if he put in much more effort in chasing the ball and closing players down in matches we might not be getting beat and would have had the title wrapped up a while ago. As soon as his contract got signed the big * stop putting in a shift

You canny complain about a guy who scores two goals against Aberdeen. And I wont.
I hope he continues to try as hard as he did yesterday from now on. Pre-Bellamy era, Hartson was since December 2004, a lucky guy that the other guys were scoring goals as his lean patch could have cost us the league. I wont deny I still thyink he is far from what we need at CP, but as long as he is scoring nothing else matters.

30 goals a season is ok for someone that gets bolloxed after 10 mins of running.

Hartson in my opinion was a major factor in Celtic gifting the league to the huns.

Forget the Motherwell clincher. Okay so he never scored in that either.

But over the past 6 months since I started this thread, bar the odd moment, he has been worse than diahorrea. For a guy who earns about £1.5m per annum, he is looking like a * thief.

We all know he is slow and fat but that aside, we all hope he can score, but he cant.

For the past 6 months he has been THE number one choice for MON (who must take the blame for sticking with him) as the Celtic main forward.

He has squandered, duffed, miss-kicked and fluffed more chances than any other Celtic striker I have ever watched. Forget his goal tally and instead look at his chances and you will appreciate that a blind drunk could come close to his efforts.

For me, Hartson cost us the league and MON for playing him.

    ...and
so do you concur with me as to MONs folly in playing him?

I think that he should have been left on the sidelines.....as lack of scoring cost us the league..

It is therefore assumed that as MON picked the team then the buck stops with him!!

Yep. I dont want to start a "MON lives up to my expectations" thread, because overall MON has been better than brilliant in my opinion. But this last season has been truly forgetable in his reign. The Jabba factor ultimately robbed him of the seasons biggest trophy. But he is the man in charge and he takes it on the chin.

In actual fcat, signing the fat * might be a godsend if we can sell him for something. As it stood he was a bosman. So lets hope some blind fool from the EPL makes a bid.

I personally believe that your being harsh and there is a touch of the Marvin Andrew factor about this - Marvin Andrews was terrible all season then played one ok game against us and sunddenly he is their best player of the season and now Hartson has suffered the flipside of this. I can't remember any Celtic fans complaining when he scored all the goals against Rangers or when he scored away against Celta Vigo and Liverpool on the way to Seville. He has cost nearly £20million in total over the years and scored goals wherever he has played (70 in 100 in league games for Celtic.) Ok he has had a poor end to the season but still ended up as top scorer in the SPL which like it or not makes him the best striker in Scotland and above all he was Players Player of the Year which is the most prestigious award you can win as it is voted for by your peers. It means that he was the hardest and most accomplished player they played against all season - you can't really do any better than that.

Check the thread from the start mate and you will see I have always considered him to be *. The players player of the year normally goes to the top scorer, simple as that.

He is playing in an awful league and the facts speak fro themselves.

I say punt the guy if we get offered any more than 50k for him. In fact sell him with a 50k bounty, that will speed things up. Perhaps Wigan or Darlington could do with a sweetner to take him off our hands.

Well if you've always thought he was * he must have proved you wrong if he was top scorer in a team that finished 2nd and if you check the players player for the last say 10 years the only other striker to have won it is Henrik, simple as that.

Saying it's a * league doesn't add any weight to any of your argument as it nulify's any achievment any Celtic player ever makes domestically. And what are the facts that speak for themselves? 70 League goals in 100 appearences?

OK so we might sell him this summer although i doubt it but why for £50k when he cost £5.5million from Wimbledon?

have mixed feelings on this one, you cant argue against his goals per games ratio@celtic, he is top scorer in the spl and won the players player of the year award.

however is it acceptable for any professional football player to be so unfit that he can only last an hour then hes *?especially when you have sutton, one of celtics best players playing out of position to accomodate him.

before the contract was signed he was the fittest hes ever been bangin in the goals, now it is looks like he isnt putting in the effort

Know what your saying about fitness but did MON not say that he has been carrying a leg/hammy problem for the last few months and that he was playing as long as he could in every game through the pain? So besides the last 3 months you'd have to say your more than happy with John Hartson?

If he was inured why the * was he playing at all??...

Surely some of these "rising stars" would have put in a better shift....then again they never got a shout anyway...
