Harry Kewell #6 THREADS MERGED#

Like the man said, Kewell is as good if not better than anyone we have when he is fit. I dont see it happening though, cause he is noted as a bit of a wages mercenary, and I doubt his glamorous actress wife would be too keen on moving to Bothwell !!!

 

I think this could be a great signing for us. Just need to hope he stays injury free. It says talks are at the prelimenary stage so we obviously have agreed a rough price and wage.

 

kewell would need to take a serious wage drop to come to parkhead but dont think he'll have many options at the end of the season as his injury record is * poor. i'd take boateng on a two year contract, decent player and would be an improvement on what we have

Leave him where he is. Even when he plays for Liv he aint that good anymore. He was good and that would be the reason we were buying him. We cant buy sum1 because they were * hot at one point but not so great now. We also dont need to get a big name signing, like he would be, and have him sit in the stand because of his injury problems.

People are already questioning WGS buying wisedom so would say his next big signing has to be a constant starter.

would b disapointed if he came to celtic,i have mates that support liverpool and when i see him play i constly question his selection,i dont think we need a player who has a lot of injury problems and would look for serious wages ,leave him be,boateng is a tidy player who might do well for us

why exactly would he be a bad signing, one of the best ever foreign players in the EPL, did you see the liverpool-marseille game this season, kewell was by far the best player on the pitch

Just dont think either would be the answer. Kewell is a left winger - is anyone honestly going to sa they would start him ahead of McGeady? Boateng has had his best years (even his best wasnt that good!) and wouldnt be worth buying imo.

 

But Kewell is rarely fit and i would play Aiden first every day of the week. Boateng could be ok for us but not more than ok.

 

Kewell can play just off the forwards as well. This is probably his best position at the moment. He has taken a year to heal last season and is looking sharp when playing. To get two seasons (at least) out of him would be GREAT for Celtic, unless of course his * of an Agent doesn't shut him out of negotiations by asking too much. Besides Scott Brown, I think we are missing a natural play maker in the centre onf midfield.
I may be biased as I am from Australia and have followed his career constantly and have seen him do the buisness for his country on many occasions.

 

If Kewell stays fit, no doubt he would be a star in the SPL, just like he would be in the EPL if he could stay uninjured. We could have a bargain on our hands.



Celtic in Bosman talks with Liverpool's Kewell

Celtic are set to swoop for Liverpool winger Harry Kewell.

The People says the 29-year old Australian is heading for Glasgow, with Liverpool calling time on his injury-blighted five-year stay on Merseyside.

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has been closely monitoring Kewell's situation. It is understood preliminary talks have taken place already and that the former Leeds star is prepared to move his family to Scotland.

Strachan already boasts one Aussie star on his books in Scott McDonald, who has dominated the press and media coverage in his first season at Parkhead.
