Watching MOTD will show you that the EPL has just about the worst defences of all the top leagues in Europe.
Personally I dont think he is anywhere near the level of Lewandowski or Suarez.

 

It's a difficult one to sum up with him..

Can be extremely proficient with his finishing but equally isn't quick, isn't strong, isn't good in the air and isn't overly great linking up..

He isn't world class for me. He's a level below your Shearer's for me..

 

He definitely isn't. I don't even think that's up for debate..

Someone said in the top 10 in the world. Really? Wowsers..

 

Alan Shearer MK.II, will get bag is goals in the Prem but will rarely win much of note except maybe one Prem title.

 

Heres 10 off the top of my head that I think is better than him.

Cavani
Aubameyang
Suarez
Dybala
Griezman
Aguero
Zlatan
Higuain
Falcao
Aguero

Great striker and all but far from the best.

 

Very good striker but not yet top 10. Lukaku, Lewandowski, Suarez, Cavani, Benzema, Griezmann, Morata, Aguero, Aubemayang, Falcao, Dybala, Higuain etc are all better players. Then you have Costa and Muller as well.

What Kane is is a fabulous finisher. Fair play to him, he's not even particularly dislikable.

The only reason its even being debated it because he is English.
If he was German he wouldn't even get a look in.

 

Your telling me if a 22 year old german who has been in the epl top scorers for 2 or 3 seasons now wouldnt get a look in?
Take your epl hating glasses off. The boy does what a striker needs to do, puts it in the net. Hes very clearly class and with age of he improves more could become something rather special.

 

Talking about getting a look in as one of the top 10 strikers in the world.

Defo knocking on the door of the top 10 it's but the key thing here is that probably (could be wrong) all of those in the top ten right now are league winners, cl winners, maybe even world cup/euro winners etc..., Kane isn't (yet).

 

And that's not even including Messi, who is the best when he's played through the middle.

 

There are actually a lot of good strikers when you think of it Suarez, Cavani, Aubameyang, Lewandowski, Aguero, Higuain, Benzema, Diego Costa, Ibrahimovic, Falcao all proven consistently at the top level for years. Mbappe you could probably include here even though he's only 18 he's scored for fun and in big games since he was 17 and is a definite world class talent.

Then theres ones who aren't really strikers like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Bale, Reus, Muller, Dybala, Griezmann and Sanchez who probably get you 25 goals a season anyway despite not being real number 9s. Dybala and Griezmann do play up front a lot but are more like attacking midfielders as well and don't really play as normal strikers.

Kane would probably be ranked after all of them in the company of Werner, Morata, Belotti, Icardi, Lukaku, Mertens, Dzeko and other guys who come in and out of goalscoring form like Mandzukic, Immobile, Aduriz, Vardy etc for now until they are scoring at International tournaments and the knockouts of the CL and Cup finals and big League games every season.

 

Kane gone and scored 3 goals away from home in the CL.

 

People will aim to discredit him because of the opposition.

 

True, now I fully expect either Griff or Dembele to follow suit
