This guy seems pretty good. I'll forgive the board for letting Rhodes and Baba slip by as long as we get this guy. I'd obviously prefer Rhodes or Baba but they are probably our of our price range now, time to move on.

I'd argue that for the most part that big name signings have been relatively pish for us in recent years. For every Robbie Keane you'll have a Gravesen. Our scouting network is one of the best in the world so don't get too hung up on recognised names.

True true mate never thought of it that way. I'd like us to get him he's cheap and looks to be different from what we have and has a good record aswell. Worth a punt I think.

dont think he would go to the scum " just cos his pal played there "

If we offer him more money he will come.

Yeah true I'm just worried we seem to be down to our 3rd and 4th choices already with no chance of Baba or Rhodes, don't want us to leave it until last minute and sign another Bangura again just for the sake of making a signing.

This. What exactly is Jelavic going to say, "It's a sinking ship and I'm off at the first opportunity"?

Might have been different if Jelavic wasn't so desperate to leave.

To be honest they might not even be friends. I think I read earlier that Jelavic used to keep Salihi out of the team a lot and he got his chance as the main striker once Jelavic had left. Why would he then want to follow Jelavic?

If anything I think Jelavic would tell him to join us anyway. Everyone can see that we are on the up while they are sinking.

we never had a chance at Rhodes if I'm honest. Maybe in the last transfer window but not after the season was in full swing. Too many eyes watching. Similar story with Baba. I have to say I'd be delighted with Salihi. Reasonable price which is good, I'd hate for an expensive forward to break up the partnership we have going at the minute. I just want strong cover.

players play against their friends at rival teams all the time this would be no different. jelavic wont be at rangers long either so i doubt he would tell him to go their, plus add that to the fans who could constantly compare him to jelavic

I know it's only Wikipedia, but it's saying that Salihi has made 33 appearances for the Albanian national team, mainly as a substitute.

Anyone know why that is? Surely they can't have very good strikers getting picked ahead of him:97:

    Record league titles

    Not a player suggestion..Appologies..but:
Always laugh at the H*NS with their fantastic league wins and entry into the Eurpean Cup/Champions league...ALL it emphasises is that they hold the world record for greatest number of entries into the competition and have NEVER won it.......losers and always will be Hail Hail :celt_2:

It seems he's appeared 36 times, 30 in the starting squad, and scored 11 goals..

Is he renowned for being good in the air? He reminds me of Rasmussen, I sincerely hope he is quicker and classier than him!

At £500k I say sign him up and let's see what he can do!

As for his options - why would he, or anyone for that matter, go to mordor? The place won't exist after this season!

Anyone signing for them really does prove the age old saying; 'you don't have to mad to work here...' :icon_mrgreen:
