    good days and bad days

    e.g.

i flat dumbell bench pressed 28kg in a set of 9 reps followed by a set of 7 after, had to drop after that whereas a week later, yesterday, I could only manage two sets of 6 and had to drop it.

I buy all my stuff from discount supplements

    free delivery on everything..

The best stuff I had was the ready mixed whey bottles.. Think they were like £25 for 12 (42g of protein each)

I had 6 boxes of bars.. The best being peaky.. 21 x 50g protein bars for £35.. really tough to eat like two of the maximuscle ones glued together..

For taste the Vyomas banana/chocolate were the nicest.. 16g of protein in each bar.. 24 bars for £25

Why is drinking a supplement better for you than having a packet of grilled chicken breast for example?

I have been thinking about ditching the supplements. I have put on fat as mentioned

When I make a shake it's like 2 litres of the stuff... :icon_mrgreen:

4 different powder buckets of whey/protein/carbs to choose from....

I had being using crabbies ginger beer in me early attempts at the start of January but lately I've switched to fruit juice..

One of my recent shakes was like this , in a blender..

    bottle of strawberry yazoo milk..
    bottle of stawberry yop yoghurt..
Add two big spoons of powder and blend..
Add a third of a carton cranberry juice..
    Add two bananas
Add 4 pots of weight watchers citrus yoghurt..

Blend it all in.. 2 litres of a lovely filling shake..

had being using a full carton of juice then half a carton but find a third of a carton is best otherwise it all seperates from the yoghurt milk within 5 minutes if the mixture is too thin..

    think of the wasitline

are supps necessary though? I mean really? If you were to eat a packet of cooked Chicken from any supermarket straight after, would that not be just as good?

You can get 30-40g of protein from them

Maybe others can give their input but I've never noticed serious gains on any supplements I've taken that I could put down to the supplement itself..
I've tried plenty but can't recommend anything.. would normally run powders or pills for 3 months and judge it after that but I would say to get gains from anything it will come down to training , diet and sleep.. If everything is in tune and you are at a plateau where you don't feel you can put on weight/muscle naturally (I've never been there) you will have a better chance of getting results than for instance an insomniac who is too tired to put in 45 minutes of training a minimum of 2 times a week..
Unfortunately what works for one person isn't a guarantee it will be good for the next person..

Try a low carb protein if you're putting on weight. The supplement is just a way for you to get extra protein on top of what you already get from your diet. As you'll know, protein is needed for muscle recovery.

I think it would be just as good.. As far as Im aware protein in chicken is as good as any protein supplement you will get.. It's probably more a case of taking protein when it can be best used by the muscles and Im not sure when that is.. Some people say first thing in the morning , before and after every workout and then at night..

I use steroidology.com for getting info.. It has diet and training sections but I've not spent much time in either.. :84:

It would be a good place to sign up and post , asking for help or ideas..

That is precisely what I have done, switched from one that gives 50g of carbs in a 90g serving to one that gived 25+g of protein in 30g of powder :50:

can ufc fighters/boxers/rugby and football players take steroids in the off-season?

Just looking at ufc now on channel 5 thinking they could

Some do but it's prohibited all their career.. MMA fighters have been banned and returned within months.. Sometimes sports stars (field sports) players have been banned , with no steroids being found in their samples.. The stuff I mentioned before hcg for countering balls shrinkage , is something that can and has resulted in a ban as it's believed to be active in mens bodies for the sole reason of doing a steroid cycle..

I see. So even the trace of that can inform their decision on whether someone is taking roids or not.

But I mean, what is stopping them doing it in the off-season? They don't get tests then do they? Especially footballers who can go away for months at a time

very true in terms of ability, but it could help your physical capability?

It's probs a question more aimed at the rugby and the fighters..

Well yeah it could help your physical game, but football is about much more than being strong and fast.

Rugby is also a lot more technical than people who don't follow it give it credit. Especially the tackling side of rugby, there's a technique to it and it isn't easy.

I think they do get tested off season.. UFC fighters for instance might have obligations to testing between fights.. There's a few that , for one reason or another find themselves in their late 20's or early 30's with testosterone levels that would be found in 70 year old men , so they get put on HRT or TRT (hormone or testosterone replacement treatment).. This in itself is almost a reason for them to then go and do steroids as long as they can cycle off and return to their prescribed levels before fight time.. Because they are on medication they can try and play dumb , saying the high levels are down to the injections they were given , and the side effects like acne on the body is down to it also.. I think Chael Sonnen tried that trick but got busted because his hormone levels were off the scale..

Even if they've being doing cycles for 5 years before they get caught they will likely have put on kilo's of muscle that they couldn't have done naturally , and as long as their post cycle therapy is correct and they continue to train hard , they will keep their muscle gains.. A 6 month ban is a small price to pay I'd say..
