Interesting that as the other Italian articles seemed to suggest their new manager doesn’t rate him.

In terms of the player he was very good in his last season at Midtjylland scored double figure goals, is very quick and direct and a good dribbler.

He is similar to Kuhn in that he is a left footer and likes to come in off the right, however I would say he is a better finisher than Kuhn but not as good at passing. It’s a shame as if one preferred the left they would be a good balance as a pair of wingers. He would have been a good option with Jota on the left.

My point is, at that fee he will replace one of them in our first XI.

He's absolutely not signing to push out the squad players such a Yang, Palma, Johnston etc - they are already on way out regardless of this guy coming in.

Also he's gone to Seria A and he's been capped once in his career. So it hasn't exactly enhanced it that much..

 

Not sure, but I think this is usually the case when both clubs are happy with the trade but the player has reasons to suspect it might be a bad move - like Maeda deciding if it was a good fit to bring his family over from Japan. Maybe he's worried we'd not play him and it would torpedo his development, maybe his agent is telling him about other interest.

Who knows? It's a fairly unusual thing to actually turn up in transfers...

Knowing Italian teams, and especially Lazio, this is a very real possibility...
