Why should we be short changed though?

Idah came here, performed and because we didn't have a set fee in place, had to pay a premium..

Lagerbielke has gone to Holland, performed really well domestically, in Europe and had call ups to thr national side, on a long contract and we're just gonna let him go for a measly 2 mill.....when there's seemingly a whole host of clubs interested..

No for me. I'd be looking at closer to double..

What a bizarre career he's had here. Scored a winner in the CL, part of an understrength team that kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at the huns, but wasn't trusted to play most of the time.

This is spot on to me €2m will be an opening offer from Braga who are another example of a club that are very good at player trading. Since 20/21 season they are about €150m in player trading profit regularly making around €40m a season in transfer profit apart from one season where they had a net loss of about €7m.

They also participate in EL every season and you wouldn’t imagine their cost base is that high. Basically they can easily afford to pay the going rate if they want him.

    https://www.abola.pt/futebol/notici...-sueco-gustaf-lagerbielke-2025062708295689547SC Braga makes €2M offer for Swedish centre-back | Abola.pt

SC Braga want to strengthen their defensive sector and have already identified a target: Gustaf Lagerbielke. According to Fabrizio Romano, a specialist in transfer market matters, the Minho team have already made an offer for the Swedish centre-back.

According to the information provided, the Minho team made a proposal of 2 million euros to try to secure the 25-year-old defender, with negotiations currently underway with Celtic , who hold the player's rights.

Gustaf Lagerbielke's interest in a move to Minho is also mentioned, after playing for Dutch side Twenteon loan last season (32 games, two goals and one assist).

BOLA knows that negotiations with Celtic are well underway and that, if they come to fruition, the centre-back will have a three or four-season contract waiting for him in Braga.

He had a good season in the Netherlands, if he and nawrocki aren't at the very least given a chance I will be * off

For sure. He is a good player clearly he just doesn't fit into the way we play under Rodgers. No reason we should settle for anything less then at least the 3.5m euro we paid for him if not 4m even.

Aye seems right for him to be off if we can recoup a lot of the money we paid for him.

Will always have his Ibrox clean sheet.

To be fair, he hasn't really been given a chance to show he doesn't fit in under Rodgers. This is something I keep seeing. Nawrocki too. The latter, whenever he plays has shown himself capable.

Other than being a bit slow, I can't recall much about Lagerbielke. But do remember his highlights showing him to be quite strong on the ball. Is he any slower than Scales for example?

Just a bit weird tbh. Spending as much on two players and writing them off as quick, then looking to a guy in Japan who's been a professional for 6 months as a potential answer. Hopefully Inamura is a better fit.

Yep. If Scales, Trusty and Nawrocki can be given the chance and have had many, many absolutely pathetic performances (Nawrocki a lil bit spared), then Lagerbielke who is a Swedish international and a stand out for Twente deserves the same chance. I am just pretty sure Rodgers just don't like him which is fine. Can't like everyone. Even Stephen * Welsh have been given games.

There are * at my work who i will never like no matter what they do.

Another CB being forced out through lack of opportunities, much like Nawrocki is being right now.

Im sorry, but Rodgers is infuriating when it comes to defenders. Utterly clueless.

Meanwhile, Liam Mr Untouchable Scales is apparently better than both Nawrocki and Lagerbielke, (like * he is) but maybe not as good as an incoming player who looks like an actual foetus, and has about the same professional experience as one.

Lagerbielke is a full Swedish international, Nawrocki has represented Poland at every level from U15 to U21; imagine not being given a shot at your club with that, and then seeing them gear up to bring in a university player with half a year of football under his belt.

But hey ho, pish another couple of mil away, death by a thousand cuts.

For a club so reluctant to spend big money we love spending alot of money. Throwing * at the wall, and if it hasnt stuck immediately, fire it in the bin. Rinse and repeat. Stuck in Adam Virgo cycle of pish punts for decades now.

I dont think Scales is particularly slow. I see this said alot but he is no slug. Lagerbielke was noticeably slower id say

Scales isn't quick in my opinion but he's far quicker than Lagerbielke..

Scales was subbed off against the sheep this season due to their pace up top. Trusty is much quicker than him also..

The game when we kept a clean sheet at Ibrox, he was utterly abysmal by the way.

People just forget the details due to the end result.

At one point in the second half he genuinely just kept chipping the ball out to their left winger.

Seen milk turn quicker, he’ll never be able to play for us with the way we play.
