Celtic Glasgow will most likely sell Gustav Lagerbielke before the transfer deadline. According to FT information, SC Heerenveen is showing strong interest in signing the Swedish central defender. KV Mechelen from Belgium has also expressed interest. However, the Dutch are currently in the lead. Talks between the defender and his employer took place in Glasgow yesterday


Everyone involved is working hard to bring the 24-year-old to the Eredivisie . The two-time Sweden international moved from IF Elfsborg to Scotland a year ago. In his first season, Lagerbielke was unable to establish himself as a regular player, making just seven appearances in the Premiership . The Stockholm native has two competitive matches to his name in the Champions League. He scored his first goal for Celtic against Feyenoord (2:1) .

 

We must surely have a CB lined up if that's the case.

 

A player who seems to have gotten better the longer he hasn’t played. Get him punted. Nowhere near good enough. What I would say about him however, is that a different player would have been absolutely toxic after we didn’t let him go on loan in January and he doesn’t seem to have been like that. Which says a lot about him as a person. More homework required going forward when another players agent advises us, because he was never a good fit for us.

 

I think most of us don't hold anything against him as a person, he wasn't what the manager wanted and Rodgers probably thought if I use him off the bench the club will want me to keep him as he's good enough to play so Rodgers just didn't select him. It's unfortunate really but he's young and can probably bounce back.

 

Made a formal season long loan offer according to news. Still a few years on his contract so if noone wants to buy him it makes sense to get him out playing somewhere.

 

Would hold off till next week and see if we get a better offer. Can't afford to keep wasting loans on these duds that have no future here.

Given limit on loans now we should he using at least some of them to develop our own players who mite still have a chance of making it here.

We only have 2 loan slots left and ideally Holm and Yang should be earmarked for them providing we get signings in

 

Think we need to get rid of 3 before the board would sanction another CB

Even with Lagerbielke leaving would leave 5 for 2 positions not signing a 6th CB

 

Holm wouldn’t count or Welsh I don’t think apparently any club trained player or U21 don’t count towards loan totals. Holm is only 21 so wouldn’t count and Welsh is club trained.

What I saw suggested we want a sale but will take a loan if no one will buy him.

 

Its a bit of a muddle trying to understand fifa rules but I think they need to be both u22 and club trained (2 years from 16 - 21). Neither Holm or Welsh would qualify.

If weve no intentions of signing another CB without Kobayashi, Scales, Welsh or Nawrocki leaving, then Rodgers simply must start putting minutes in Nawrockis legs.

Its just my opinion, but i didnt see much wrong with him before the injury, with the notable caveat that he seemed a bit if a hammer thrower, rash in a tackle. But certainly capable of handling Spl players.

I'd rather have Nawrocki lunging in and risking a yellow, than Scales dithering about, risking a goal.

1 more loan to get out the door and plenty of players we could loan out no bother. Kobayashi, Welsh, Holm, Yang, Johnston...

 

Holm for me. Yang we kinda need as we're not blessed with option out wide or up top...the rest need sold.

 

Heerenveen are in advanced talks with Celtic over a loan deal for centre-back Gustaf Lagerbielke.

Celtic have been open to offers for the 24-year-old, who struggled to break into the team following his £3m move from Elfsborg last summer.

Heerenveen want to take the Sweden international on loan until the end of the season.

Lagerbielke has also been attracting the interest of Lecce this summer, after a loan move to the Serie A club fell through in January.
