I think this is a really good point.

Fair enough. I though u were meaning from a playing point of view.

To be fair bringing in big fees doesn't really mean * if you won't spend.

The board will regret it as it would have ment a bigger bonus

Correct. So he was never going to be a success here. Therefore he would never be valued massively as long as he is a Celtic player. So whatever he may go for in the future is irrelevant really. For what it’s worth, I don’t see him going for huge money at any point.

I'd have liked to have seen more of him. I was very undecided about him, definitely think there is a player in there but he seemed to swing from being calm and confident to being unsure and hesitant at times when he played.

Like I said tho, ideally I'd like to have seen more of him to really make my mind up what I thought as I reckon the hesitancy could simply be playing a new system with new players or just needing more experience at at a big club.

From a defensive point of view cross all after cross all came in and he was solid

Here, might be a chance of a profit anyway, he’s not conceded playing for us, scored a CL winner, off the back of Swedish Defender of Year or whatever it was and if he goes to Lecce in Serie A, does well, gets them well clear of that relegation battle they’re near, just above it…

And a slow defender suits a defensive team in Serie A far more than us so he could do it. And then that’s a good CV to punt him on.

    I don’t think he’s good though tbf

He also sold a goal that while technically was a foul when it goes to VAR, shouldn’t have even went to VAR, think 99% of players who’ve been in the game would absolutely agree he wasn’t fouled. He hesitated, shat it, wasn’t strong enough and that * got his body infront of him, and that meant it was a foul because he done that rather than kick the ball.

It’s technically by the letter of law a foul, but it’s no in reality and would be seething with that the other way round. Not clear and obvious error either for me, he and we got mega away with that.

And that wasn’t his only panicky as * thing in that game. But the defending crosses backs to the wall sorta *, he looks suited at defending his box. So was Declan Gallagher but

I’m pretty sure his first booking in Feyenoord came from him getting caught or playing a poor pass and then diving in. Can’t find it to check it though.

I can only remember his 2nd in any detail, but didn’t have many complaints about the first and can mind talking to my brother saying needs to take it as a lesson.

Still don’t think the 2nd was a yellow or a penalty though, but not through anything he done, other guy pulled him first. Then he done it back. Fouled him, but other * done the first contact and shirt pull.

Not watched it back since a day after the game though, so may still have been biased as *

I've seen Centre Backs have poorer starts to their celtic careers and end up going on to be solid.

Kelvin Wilson comes to mind, he had a shocker at Ibrox, gifted that wee fud Naismith a goal on a plate. Had a dodgy 6 months, then he went on to be * solid. Was part of the team that shut out Barcelona and Messi at his pomp.

I haven't seen enough of the guy at all, same with Nawrocki, I've been more than happy with Nawrocki.

I think guys need at least 5-10 games playing alongside each other as well. I've said before our defense has had different guys in almost every position Scales aside. Plus coming in from a different league, age etc.

But obviously there's more to it than just ability.

Gustaf Lagerbielke is currently blocked at #Lecce . The player was already literally ready to embark for Italy, the #Celtic blocked the Swede's farewell at the moment. Possible developments in the next few hours

Was my first thought as soon as I seen we had blocked the move.

How very celtic to keep a player deemed not good enough and ready to be shipped out, because of an injury to ccv rather than buying a player that will be good enough

Shameful treatment of this lad. We don’t want him, so try and punt him. I doubt he wants to be here because of that and wants to go away and kickstart his career as he’s still young and got plenty potential. But no we have now put a stop to that and will keep him here and he wouldn’t even get a game. All because we are a * shambles.

It's exceptionally early to judge him. I'd have rather kept him until the summer given the injuries we've had and the situations he's been thrown in.
