From watching John McGinn’s documentary it seems like it was his choice to go to Aston Villa based off of how much effort they put in convincing him to join rather than us not paying enough.

They put in a lot of effort because they knew he was a Celtic fan and his heart was set on moving here.

Naturally, they would have had to try far more than Celtic would. I don’t blame Celtic for that either but the reality is, had we offered the £3m in July and got the deal through, he would be wearing a Celtic top.

We could have had the deal done and dusted if we had not penny pinched. Villa come in for him and then it was too late. He said they sold him the dream.

There shouldn't have been a chance for the dream to be sold. Peter * rat faced Lawell * us over.

Ahhh so Rodgers did greenlight them? They were in the works Rodgers agreed to them, and they weren’t signed when he didn’t want it to happen? …. Like I’ve been saying this full time.

    Imagine that.

No, as I’ve already said, they were coming in no matter who was in charge. Going forward it may well be Rodgers who has the final say on every player, these were guys who were well down the line before the manager was decided though and were coming here no matter what. These were clearly players who were identified when Ange was here, either by Ange, the scouting team, or both. That much is obvious.

All I know is that if you factor out players the recruitment team aren't principally responsible for, i.e. players our managers knew personally (e.g. Sinclair for Rodgers and Mooy and the Japanese lads for Ange), players with family connections to Celtic who played in the same league as us (Christie) and the players we got after loans from bigger clubs like PSG, Spurs or Benfica, then the number of really good signings we have made since Dembele is really rather low: Frimpong, Starfelt, Juranovic, MOR and... who? 4 hits in 7 and a half years? Out of how many?
Compare that with the previous 8 years!

Add to that that they also seem to have a very poor record of arranging quality loans for some of the project signings (CM was before this period, so basically just Ajer and Scales, right?) and I think it has to be asked why they are doing so poorly. I know Congerton destroyed the old system but they've had enough time to put something back in place by now.

Could see from his first 10 minutes at Ibrox he is nowhere near good enough. * knows what we see in the likes of him and Bernabei to * £3m+ on them.

What does he mean by dry loan?

Would be a good loan, for him and us. If he does well then Lecce have the money to get most of our money back or impress enough for another team to do so.

Lecce continues to move on the market in search of some opportunities to strengthen the squad available to Roberto D'Aversa for this second part of the championship . The Salento team have made a survey with Celtic for Gustaf Lagerbielke .

Lecce's idea is to take Lagerbielke on loan . Celtic have opened up to the operation but the costs for its success are significant. The negotiation is not simple but there was an initial survey.

    Who is Lagerbielke

Born in 2000, he is a right-footed defender who also boasts two appearances in the Champions League this season with Celtic.

On 12 January 2023 he made his debut with the senior Swedish national team against Iceland after completing the entire youth selection process.

Probably would do incredibly well in Italy as vast majority of teams play with a very deep defensive line . I like him I think he's got a raw deal and will go on to be a very capable CB.

Get shot of him if the rumours are true that Rodgers thinks he can’t run.

He’s definitely not the quickest across the ground but neither is Nawrocki, have to say if you can’t see a player is slow after fully scouting him theres an issue.

i think he’s been harshly treated in all honesty, not anywhere near so bad you look to punt after 6 months.
