Maybe if you didn't feel the need to agree with him that using negrito isn't racist then I wouldn't feel the need to point out that it looks like you're looking for excuses for the guy.

There's no ergo about it. You insinuated he lost because his case was weak and he couldn't prove that negrito was not racist (which happens to also be your belief). I'm saying he lost because it was racist. Which it has been proven to be. No excuses, no "his case wasn't handled well". You are suggesting his case was weak RATHER than he was guilty and racist.

Negrito isn't racist, have you ever heard it used as a racial slur? Anyone?

We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone when no-one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United teammates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth while a corner kick was about to be taken.

Luis Suarez is our teammate and our friend and as a group of players we are shocked and angered that he has been found guilty by the FA.

We totally support Luis and we want the world to know that. We know he is not racist.

We are a squad of many different nationalities and backgrounds. All of us support the Club's commitment to fighting racism. All of us accept there is no place in the game for any form of discrimination. As a group of players we totally support the Kick it Out Campaign.

We have lived, trained and played with Luis for almost 12 months and we don't recognise the way he has been portrayed. We will continue to support Luis through this difficult period, and as a popular and respected friend of all his teammates, he will not walk alone.

    Official statement from the players.

:56:* joke of a club It's getting farcical now .

Expect Suarez to be shaking hands with Blatter next.

And also if it is racist, should we be chasing the Rolling Stones for their song "Hey Negrita"?

It's not the word... it's the context.

It means ' little black person' or in spanish its slang for 'negro' ,He might not have meant it to be racist as its not seen as offensive in South america but the definition is still the same, hes in england and there was absolutely no need to bring evras colour into discussion.

How people can start slating evra for it is beyond me.
And since suarez admitted calling him the name folk using the whole " its only evras word " argument doesnt work.
Suarez might not be racist and i personally dont think he is but nonetheless he shouldnt have used the word he did.

This is 100% the issue. But they are judging a context in a game of football between a mixed-race uruguyian and a black Frenchman playing in England when it seems not one person heard what was said or the context behind what was said. Not defending him outright as I dont know the context, but think it is incredibly harsh to ban the guy for 8 games unless they have a full understanding of the context.

I think an 8 game ban is harsh and I expect Liverpool to appeal it.

Exactly, it is about the context. Now if Luis Suarez culture it osn't offensiv and it is never used as an offensive word then how, in the context can it be viewd as racist if the word itself and the context isn't racist?
