Think we should go for him as well .... and the sooner the better.
Genk has representitives overthere for the moment and they are willing to sign him before the weekend. They want a good replacement for Courtois, who was sold to Chelsea (so I think we can leave them out in the purchase) and will playnext season for Atletico Madrid.

Polish keeper Grzegorz Sandomierski will not be in goal for Celtic in their Europa League qualifiers – even if the Parkhead club sign him before Monday’s deadline.
The 21-year-old – who Neil Lennon confirmed in yesterday’s SportTimes is a man they are interested in – has already played in the tournament this season.
In the first round, his team, Jagiellonia Bialystok, crashed out 2-1 on aggregate to Irtysho from Kazakhstan.
Under Uefa rules, anyone who has played in the qualifying rounds will be eligible to play for another club from the Group Stage onwards, provided the team they have already appeared for is not in the competition.
So if Sandomierski does sign for Celtic, he would have to sit out the final knock-out round on August 18 and 25, and hope his new club can get through to the Group Stage when he could make his European debut for the Hoops.
This would mean either Lukasz Zaluska or Dominic Cervi playing in goal for the qualifying ties. For Lennon, it is another complication in what has already been a frustrating search for a new keeper.
The latest news from Poland is that it could take as much as £2.7million to persuade Bialystok to sell Sandiomerski.
That’s the price Belgian club Genk have been quoted as they compete with Celtic for the youngster who has already forced his way into Poland’s national team.
Sources in Poland also claim the Parkhead club have already had one offer rejected. Told by cash-strapped Bialystok how much they want for Sandomierski, Celtic are reported not to have baulked but to have said they will go away and consider it.
But Sandomierski is not the only option Lennon is considering. An enquiry to Reading over the availability on loan of England Under-21 keeper Alex McCarthy could see the highly-rated shot-stopper heading north.
Lennon was also impressed by free agent Gerhard Tremmell when he played against Celtic for Swansea in midweek.
And a return to Parkhead for Fraser Forster has not been ruled out, though Newcastle are holding out for at least £2m.
Meanwhile, Celtic skipper Scott Brown is set to seal a new deal. Brown, signed by Gordon Strachan in 2007 on a four-year deal, is not in the final season of that contract.
However, negotiations have been fruitful and the midfielder is expected to commit to a longer deal.

so he can't play the game against Sion but can play for us after that in the Europa League...i'd still take him. Zaluska will do for the Sion games.

Hopefully whoever we do have in goal for the Sion games will be untroubled. I'm hoping for our midfield & strikeforce to do most of the 'defending'.

If they want £2.7M for him and we arent happy paying that just pay the * £2M for Forster who proved to be a top notch addition to our squad last season. I wouldnt be entirely happy with this guy because i know nothing of him and Forster would fit back into our team again perfectly!

NEIL LENNON confirmed last night he has made a move for Polish keeper Grzegorz Sandomierski.

The Celtic boss is anxious to bring in a new No1 ahead of Monday's Europa League deadline for the play-off tie against FC Sion.

If he gets £2million-rated Sandomierski, 21, the Pole WON'T be able to face the Swiss outfit because he's cup-tied and can't play until the group stages.

That won't put Lenny off, though. He said: "We have expressed an interest in Sandomierski, but that's as far as it's gone.

"If there is going to be anything done, I think it will be a bid of some sort."

The Hoops gaffer revealed Fraser Forster and Reading's Alex McCarthy are fall-back options if he fails to land Sandomierski, who is not eligible to face Sion because he played for current club Jagiellonia Bialystok in their first qualifying round defeat by Kazakhstan's Irtysho.

Lennon had a £1.5m bid rejected by Newcastle for last season's loan ace Forster.

Lennon, whose side are at Aberdeen tomorrow, said: "I can't comment on Fraser because we've been warned off by Newcastle already.

"I don't want to be accused of unsettling a player at another club, but we put in a bid, so he's a player that interests us.

"I am not saying we will not go back in for him."

On England Under-21 ace McCarthy, he said: "We've had him watched for some time but there's been no formal contact between the clubs."

Lennon admits he expects a tough tie against Sion - who Celts will now face at home in the first leg - as his side bids to bury the memory of last year's Euro disaster when they were knocked out of the Champions League and Europa League before the group stages.

Lennon said: "It's a tough draw, but the players will be looking to rectify what went wrong last year."

Skipper Scott Brown is close to signing a contract extension. Lennon added: "We are not far away."

I would prefer him to Forster actually. I would rather Tyton or Kello though, unless we sign 2 keepers.

I was reading on STV (i think) that we're buying him as 'one for the future' rather than to unsurp Zaluska. Sounds like nonsense to me though, not for the prices quoted.

Thought Cervi was our "one for the future" / "work in progress" ?

If he can do a job now, buy him and get him involved.

BBC sport says the same thing but nothing about a bod being put in?

Lenny has always been discreet and played down his transfers however so I see this as progress!

Forster or Sandomierski in soon enough and I'll be happy, though I don't like the fact that Lennon is starting to go public with his targets... has he not saw how much of a fool McCoist has made of himself?

Zally will be starting Sunday then, think he'll do a good job.

I don't think we'll even put in a bit for this guy tbh, I think Lenny is holding out for Forster, who I don't want personally.
