lennon likes stokes, and this could be a chance to see what stokes has left in the tank to offer, now the pressure is on him and griffiths will be a real threat to his place in the team, and also griffiths will be raring to go and could be a good impact sub, i would play griffiths but cant see it tbh

I hope he starts and I can tell Lennon already likes him so I think he will. Stokes has been underperforming this season but still getting a start so will just have to wait and see.

Stokes has been too pish for too long, agree its a big game, but Griffiths can handle it. He loved scoring against Aberdeen for Hibs, so he will be wanting to keep that going for us.

Would like to see him start ,obviously he will be out to prove himself and could score a couple but I think he will come on from the bench

Commons is better just behind the strikers. His passing and vision is ideal for that area. He has scored the majority of his goals from midfield.

What we should do, of course, is play 442 with Griffiths and Balde up front and Pukki on the bench.

What we will do, instead, is play Stokes up front on his own and bring Balde on with 7 and a half minutes to go.

7 and a half minutes is pretty optimistic. I'll say 4 and a half.

He's been very good up top this season dropping into the whole and linking play as well as carrying the mantle of scoring all by himself in a lot of our games..

It can also go the opposite way though Dev, the lad bangs in the winning goal and he's off and running, settles him in a lot quicker, his main objective is to score goals, the sooner he does that the better for Celtic.

I know it works wonders for commons but I I hate how his position leaves u without 2 upfront ! I would go with stokes and griff simple as that playing one up top especially stokes at home is embarrassing and never works

Theoretically I would agree with you but Stokes was rubbish against St Mirren and overall, despite a good start, has had a poor season. There is no risk staring Griffiths alongside Commons up front when you consider the alternatives.

I have always said that we cannot rely on Commons, a midfielder, to keep going on this form until the end of the season.
    <o:p> </o:p>
Also, we need a clear out in the summer. I’d keep Griffiths, Pukki as 2nd strikers, put Commons back out left and keep Balde and the Fridge as no. 9’s. The rest can go.

You would move Commons from the position he plays now? Banging in goals for fun, you would mess with that?

And please tell me you meant just strikers when you said "the rest can go"?

Some goal too. We were outstanding that day.

I'd probably have Griffiths in there with Stokes on the bench.

Of course only forwards. To clear up, Stokes, Samaras, Watt can go.
    <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
In a separate topic, I think Matthews, Lustig, Forrest (all 3 always in injured) should go. As well as Boerrigter (do I really have to explain this one?), Kayal (given up on him returning to form).
    <o:p></o:p>
Would not have signed Johansson because Mulgrew should have been moved to that position.
    <o:p></o:p>
Commons cannot be expected to keep this up forever. Commons out left can still score 16 goals a season. Remember his first half season with Brown right and Commons left 2010/11, Jan – May? The team kept the ball high up the pitch for long spells game in game out and could do the same again.
    <o:p></o:p>
Commons at no. 10 disrupts the rest of the team, despite his own good form. We should have 2 up front.

With all due respect mate, you are an absolute moon unit.

Get rid of Stokes, Lustig and Matthews and bring back Cillian sheridan.

    Matthews AND Lustig?

No, son. That's gutting our squad.

If they are always injured, they are always injured. Promote Fisher to 2nd choice RB and buy a 1st choice in the summer.

    They aren't *always* injured.

I agree, Matthews has had some trouble, and yes, Lustig is currently out for a lengthy period, but they're still fantastic footballers.
