I angrily wrote him off for attitude after Hibs. Didn’t know his Mrs was ready to drop at anypoint.

Always try and keep in mind the guys on the pitch are human, outside personal life comes into it, feel bad about slaughtering him now.

That said, if the next time he plays he looks like he was at Easter Rd I’ll revert.

I suspect there's a good chance we wont see him in a Celtic jersey again. With Scales fit, given the fact that he can cover 2 positions, GT will find it difficult to make the bench.

Thought Scales was injured. Regardless Taylor is a better LB than Scales so would expect him to be the alternative to Schlupp if needed.

Can’t really blame him if he’s off. Schlupp coming in has shown that you can talk all you want about squad rotation, but when it comes down to it the higher quality player is going to get the opportunities 8 or 9 times out of 10. Since settling in, Schlupp has been favoured against Bayern, against Hibs in the cup and will likely play against the Huns too.

If Taylor stayed he’d basically become to Tierney what Ralston is to Johnston (although Tierney’s injury likelihood might afford him more opportunities tbf) Regardless, Schlupp would be a much better backup to Tierney anyway due to his versatility.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that left-back Greg Taylor is likely to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, as the Hoops prepare for a summer of personnel changes.

Speaking after Celtic's commanding 3-0 victory over Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, where Taylor remained an unused substitute for the fourth consecutive game, Rodgers gave a candid assessment of the situation surrounding the Scottish international’s future.

Rodgers revealed that it was "probably more that he will move on than stay," admitting that it was a situation he had seen unfold many times before.

"It's a big shame for me as he's someone that I really like. I love him as a person but I love his game because I think his game is suited to how we work," Rodgers said.

While confirming that Taylor’s potential departure wasn’t motivated by financial factors, Rodgers acknowledged the player’s desire for more game time

It's not financial, it's not anything, but I respect his position because he will want to feel that he's playing every single week," he added.

With Kieran Tierney set to return to Celtic Park from Arsenal in the summer, it seems that Taylor’s role will be further limited, leading to the expectation that he will seek a move away to secure regular first-team football. Rodgers, however, reassured fans that regardless of who occupies the left-back position next season, they will "still play a lot of games."

No surprise, not even getting off the bench recently.

He's obviously said he isn't signing or asked for too much. I think he plays otherwise, at least subbed on. Possibly Schlupp has indicated he'd be happy to stay a couple of years.

I just think he maybe doesn't fancy the challenge.

Since he came here his competition has been

    Bolingoli
    Laxalt
    Bernabei

Who else a missed not exactly stellar!

Good luck to him. Been a good signing. He knows Tierney will be first choice and probably fancies a new challenge.

Taylor has done a good job for us over the years and I hope he gets a good send off once he goes. Schlupp should be number one til the end of season now. Hopefully we can convince him to stay on a year

GT's been a fantastic servant for us, and has played with complete commitment and conviction in every game since he arrived.

I'll miss him, but if it's time to move on then he does so with best wishes.

Some of the hatred towards him is bizarre. Really isn’t his fault the club couldn’t scout a left back to save their *. He’s dug us out of * on a load of occasions. Not been my favourite player but has certainly done more than a job for us.

Has been a great servant, wish that we could keep him for a few more years because an injury prone Tierney will not last a full season.

He's been a good servant to the club, usually dependable and reliable. Made some wonderful contributions during a lot games too, and wasn't afraid to mix it up a little sometimes. Should his future lie elsewhere then I wish him well and every success in the future.
