TBH I have never thought Idah took the cream puff about being out the team before, especially when he was playing second fiddle to Kyogo all the time, he always came across as a team player with remarkable grace for a modern day footballer. But if his nose was out of joint for being dropped for the Bayern game, and it's a big if, then I fully sympathise with him, because I believed he deserved a start too, given his recent goal exploits against Young Boys ( took us to the play off) and his sensational one/two against Villa.

Not so much sympathy for Taylor if he is in a strop, and for not being a team player.

Hate this kind of crap. It absolutely isn’t true.

Guy has his flaws but he has done a job for us. I wonder sometimes if he was Spanish or Brazilian if he’d get getting the same criticism.

He would. Just look at the stick the likes of Engels and Hatate were getting earlier in the season. Every pass was being scrutinised. Neither are Spanish or Brazilian granted :giggle1:.

Brendan Rodgers says Greg Taylor isn't in Celtic's squad this evening because his wife has gone into labour.

The left-back started in a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday, although he was hooked at the break.

Fast forward a few days, and Taylor isn't even in Celtic's squad to face Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership this evening, with Crystal Palace loanee Jeffrey Schlupp coming in to take his place in the lineup.

Speaking to BBC ahead of this evening's game, Parkhead boss Rodgers explained Taylor's absence: "Greg was in the squad, and then late this afternoon when we were at this hotel, his wife went into labour," he said.

"We sent him away to be with her, and fingers crossed everything is OK for them, and they'll be parents for the first time."

How is Greg Taylor? Is he aware of what's coming for the next weeks and months ahead?

It's like lots of things in life. Until you actually experience it, he won't know. We're delighted for him and Laura. They had their baby daughter, which was so nice for him.

I was saying to him, my daughter turned 29 today herself and as soon as I spoke to Greg, it took me back to that moment. I said, you have to cherish every moment, because she's 29 today and it's just gone so fast.

I said to him, make sure you enjoy it as well, because the time goes so fast as a parent. He's obviously happy and the baby's healthy and mum's healthy, so it's great news for him.
