Don’t. I’ll be absent from here for about a fortnight if that happens.

Well, everyone's different, mate. I find Taylor quite likeable for all the reasons folk have mentioned above: gives 100%, exemplary family life, apparently does hospital visits without making a big deal out of it (as I didn't know about it until I read it in the thread above). I would consider dislikable someone like Neymar TBH, in spite of what an incredible player he was.

He’s been a consistently high performer for the majority of his Celtic career. Yeah he struggles in the Champions League but so do most of our players, it’s as difficult as it gets in club football.

I think he's a constant weak link in the Champions League tbh.

I mean, you know yourself, there are different degrees of every attribute. No one - in my opinion - is as dislikable as Neymar, so you’re starting from an extreme point there, for me. But yeah, he isn’t remotely in the ‘I can’t stand him’ category. I was probably a bit quick with the word, ‘dobber’ therefore, but tbh I’ve had enough of the negative aspects of his attitude (outweighed by the positive though they might be), and I do find him very off-putting.

Regards the idea of Schlupp being first choice...think it's a bit premature. Agree he has GT on pace and strength, but nowhere near it in terms of linking up and keeping us fluid. He'll get better as we go but he's a long way off doing it to the levels Taylor does.

Munich away I'll concede we might be better off with Jeff for his strength but overall GT still the main man.

He can be but he’s had some good performances at that level too. Like everyone else I want an upgrade but the hate he gets from some is pathetic and the criticism he receives is often unjustified.

If Taylor leaves and Schlupp performs well enough I can see a scenario where we sign him permanently and he becomes Tierney’s backup. He has a lot to prove still though.

I'd agree with the hate thing. Certainly don't hate the guy haha. Gives his all for us and has a fantastic accolade list as a Celtic player.

Just think Schlupp is the better option on Tuesday. Granted could be on a hiding to nothing regardless.

Yeah it’ll be a difficult game regardless. Pretty sure we’ve never won on German soil?

The concern about Schlupp is that he very much looks like a guy who hasn’t played a lot of football lately.

One of the most likeable Celtic players in a long time, as far as I am concerned. As others have said he is a great ambassador for the club, much of it unspoken and unannounced.Well liked at the club, and comes across as a real good spokesman for the club, could see Taylor going on to be a manager in his own right in the future.

Happy for him to stick around, and fight it out with Schlupp and Tierney for left back, or maybe even consider moving him into the midfield, where he started with Killie.

Aye that's the likely scenario as it stands. Still think there's a slight chance GT stays, although a very slight chance. Either way works for me tbh.

We didn’t exactly look fluid when Taylor passed the ball out for a Bayern throw three times in the one half the other night.

I was against starting Schlupp on Wednesday, but I think it’s a gamble worth taking for Tuesday night now. We know Taylor isn’t good enough at this level and is going to be rinsed again, at least with Schlupp there could be the element of surprise. Both will probably be needed at some point anyway as I don’t see either lasting 90.
