The KT chants was absolutely disrespectful to Taylor, a guy who has given his all to the club since he has been here. Yes he has his weaknesses as a player, but who doesn't in the SPL - always gives 100% and that's good enough for me.

I hope he is offered and signs a new deal cos he deserves it but sadly I think he will be leave which means we need to find two quality left backs...:ynwacelti

So we can't sing a larsson song because it might upset idah. Better no sing about 10 in a row incase we upset the 9 in a row teams. Better no sing incase we upset the other team because we're happy next. Do one.

It feels to me like Rodgers is mixing it and using Taylor the same way he did Boyata and Dembele.

I can see why he may have felt bad for him. He's played the majority of games n minutes for years. Tbh he's been a really good reliable injury free player that's tried his very best. Yet we all give him a barrel load of stick :56: then here we all are already singing Tierneys name so he might have seen gregg a bit upset in the back ground. So he's done this to protect him, or atleast keep him onside until the signings in the door because we're left backless soon :56:

    I dont get it.
Fans buzzing about potentially bring home a Celtic hero who has just become available.
Nothing to do with Greg or whoever may be playing LB.
Way too many snowflakes out there.
If fans sing a song in praise of Jota, is that disrespectful to Maeda Khun or Forrest?
BR needs to get a grip too

Exactly this and in my eyes it's completely uncalled for and disrespectful to the fans who pay good money to support the players.

    KT is not here yet.

There is no guarantee he will be here either.

Completely irrational, but, that * constant exasperated and fretful look on his pus does him no favours, with me.

I was at the game and didn't hear the KT chant. I'm not saying it didn't happen but it wasn't widespread at least.

I don't see how it's disrespectful in any case. People like KT and obviously some wanted to make it known they want him in. No reason him and KT couldn't both play a big role at the club, assuming Greg actually wants to renew his contract and remain here.

The whole KT thing over last 12 months or so is exactly why GT hasn't signed.

If you are not respected or valued by some at your place of work, despite doing pretty well and seeing of several incomers - and then you see someone incoming who will take your hard earned place regardless of how well you do....why would you stay?

I have huge respect for GT but moving on is probably best for all concerned - but Celtic better make * sure they have 2 high quality LB's in place before start of next season.

Dinamo Zagreb have reportedly ramped up their pursuit of Greg Taylor in the wake of Brendan Rodgers' furious response to the Celtic fans.

The boss accused the Parkhead faithful of "disrespect" after Kieran Tierney's name was chanted during the Scottish Premiership victory - with the Celtic boss questioning if the punters had realised how they were impacted on current first-choice left-back Taylor. And amid the storm, the Croatian champions have reportedly made their move to bring in the Scotland international this month with Tierney inching towards the Arsenal exit.

Record Sport had previously revealed that Dinamo were pushing for a pre-contract agreement with Taylor after he entered the final six months of his deal - while he is still holding on to hope that he can extend his stay at Parkhead. But Sportske Novoski report that the Dinamo are undeterred and preparing a "logical" offer for the defender to try and bring him to Fabio Cannavaro's side and plan "enquire about a possible price" for the Hoops' man.

I don't mean any disrespect at all mate but this is the kind of naivety I'm alluding to.

We're meant to believe Greg Taylor is really sad because the big bad Celtic support are chanting for Tierney and Papa Rodgers has went in and seen him crying and lost the rag in his press conference defending his wee boy.

Greg Taylor's issue will be he's sitting without the contract offer he feels he deserves. * all to do with the Celtic support. He want's a contract that sets him up for life and he's quite rightly pushing for that, whichever way he can.

Rodgers can clearly play a big part in fixing that, but instead he's playing up to our naivety acting as if Taylor is actually sad because the Celtic support are so mean and being big bullies. When he heard Rodgers comments today he's probably sitting thinking, "Get me my contract then you *".

I hate how people fall for Rodgers bullshit. He's doing a good job here and he's a good manager, but he's also a liar and he thinks he has this support on strings. Don't believe anything he says, especially when it comes to 'defending his players'. He's trying to act like the good guy looking after wee Greggy Taylor. It's nonsense.

Taylor will come out in a few years and say how bizarre it was watching Rodgers 'defend' him over something he wasn't bothered about then not give him a contract.

No it doesn't. By that logic, Larsson showed very little respect to Celtic because he done the exact same thing. Taylor signed a contract and has honoured the full value of that contract, he's extended his contract here, as well. If Celtic want him to stay, make him an offer to stay.

If BR is trying to butter up Taylor to sign a new contract by creating a scenario where he can 'defend' him against the Celtic support then that's a new low.

I think KT excitement is premature as if he does sign he has a high risk for injuries. especially when someone clatters into him like they tend to do here and he's out for a few months. He will be targeted up here.
Possibly also why Brendan is downplaying it as it isn't a guarantee he signs.

If it's financials that stopping him signing a contract then Zagreb I doubt is that answer, they're top paid players are on ~20k euros (according to salarysport so pinch of salt as always)

But equally, Zagreb is a nice place, they are a champions team so you'll be on for more medals etc and it's an adventure away from Glasgow.

England would be more likely if it's just down to money but if it's about a place in the team etc Zagreb would be good for him.

I've no hard feelings if he does go on a pre contract, we shouldn't just be trying to get rid of him now if he does, he's an important part of the team and has proven that over the years, and is say a lot of the flak he's been given has been unfair to him. We'd be * if we just had the 1 left back for the 2nd half of the season

I think that could be the case, he probably just wanted to bring Taylor up as he wants us to give him say £20k a week and him to be the back-up but we're maybe not offering him that and this is just Rodgers way to bring up publicly he wants to keep him.

Probably would appeal to you playing abroad under less stress for good money. When he was 18 or whatever he probably never imagined he'd have the career or money he's ended up with, been here a fairly long time and played at the highest level and won everything multiple times.

I'd probably move to Croatia or America or anywhere at this point to live better and "work" under less pressure, especially if Tierney is coming back as you'd think you are barely going to play any of the big games going forward when up to now you've played in them all. You probably would feel you are being binned and your time is up as well.

Needs to grow a pair, we're no a charity. He's been paid handsomely to kick a ball about, so this talk of giving everything for the club etc. as if he's been doing it for nothing needs to be packed in.

The chants were obviously not directed at Taylor. I'm sure Idah or Kyogo wouldn't go in a wee huff if Dembele was rumoured to be signing and the fans sung his song.

Rodgers has got a cheek with the respect comments, when he * off in the middle of the season and tried to gut our entire staff room when we were technically in a title race.
