I have just compared them in my previous posts for you mate - careers stats compared, issues compared, circumstances compared, versatility to positions compared - that's how I compared it.

    Defensively he’s very poor.

Slow, weak, positionally poor, backs off a lot.

He’s got good qualities but he’s not good enough to be our starting left back.

All well and good people saying we miss him when he's not in the team. That's only because there's literally no alternative in that position.

    He's * murder.

Bit of a coward as well for not taking a penalty. One of the leaders in the group, apparently.

We definitely need an improvement in his position. He's capable of a lot of good performances as he's proven time and time again, but there are games like today where he's a weakness.

Tbh you either play him or scales at lb and get whoever is left out the team.

It's nearly as bad a combo on the left as Taylor and Yang.

    He's * hopeless.

I don't think he'll ever hit the heights in the rest of his career that he hit under Ange.

Was the perfect storm, the system and the way that Ange set up.

Good on the ball, but * useless at defending. He's a midget as well.

    He needs upgraded, massively.

I'd say that should probably be the first priority, a GK and left CB as well.

He should be back up, same with Scales. Saying that though you could probably say the same about Johnson now .

The year is 2049 and we still haven't bought a left back to take his spot.

Target Taylor and you'll get goals. It's always been the way. The sheep exploited his physical deficiencies. Same as every Euro team does. We've known this for long enough and still haven't addressed it.

Absolutely no suprise to see this wee loudmouth * * out of taking a penalty.

Constantly moaning at other whilst he's generally atrocious and doesn't even have the balls to hit a penalty.

I still think when it comes to European goals and big games, I can think of far more from the other side of our pitch than Taylors side. Bodo-Glint done such a number on him that it’s stuck ever since.

Greg Taylor has revealed talks over a new contract have been put on hold until after Celtic take care of business this season.

The Hoops ace is heading into the final year of his current deal but discussions have not kicked off yet. Taylor is not concerned and Celts are understood to be keen to tie the 26-year-old down for the longer term. But the full back insisted his only target just now is producing a grandstand finish to the season with the Parkhead men setting their sights on a Premiership and Scottish Cup Double

Taylor said: “I have one year left but there has been no talks. I have just been focused on finishing the season strongly. We will see what comes of it. I just want to do as well as I can for Celtic. There will always be competition and that is the focus of being a Celtic player. I just want to take care of these next six games and then everything else will take care of itself

Celtic pick up league duty on Sunday with a three point advantage over title rivals Rangers having booked an Old Firm Scottish Cup Final on May 25 after getting past Aberdeen last weekend.

Taylor is looking for a big finish before addressing his Hoops future – and hopefully being part of Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for the Euros. He said: “Hopefully, it will be a long summer. You want to be involved in the biggest tournaments with your country. Let the football take care of things just now and we will see what happens come the end of the season.”

Taylor is determined to keep the foot down with Celtic and he insisted NOTHING has changed in the title fight despite Rangers spilling points in recent clashes against Ross County and Dundee. The swing has put the Parkhead side in the driving seat but there is little margin of error

We never secure players who think would be desperate to stay and take it for granted they’ll sign up regardless for as long as Lawwell and Desmond’s been here.

People will look at this example and think with Taylor they’d agree, but we’ve done it our detriment to guys screaming for an extended contract, who we could sell on for good fees and it’s * us. Ledley and Samaras are two, Jackie McNamara we done it to thinking he was a gimme and finally done it when he was driving to England to sign a contract.

    * we done it to Stan Petrov, and he signed just so we could get a fee, a rare guy that. He’d have got more money and a big sign on fee as a bosman. It’s another wee sign Lawwell’s de facto in charge still. Start of the year contracts were the biggest priority and we done amazing. Lawwell was just back then.

    He’s poison.

Celtic plan to hold new contract talks with Greg Taylor, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Hoops will sit down with Taylor, 26, this summer to discuss a contract extension

It is believed that there is a willingness from both the club and the player to get a deal done

The left-back will have just 12 months remaining on his current Celtic deal at the start of next season but well-placed sources have told Football Insider that he is expected to pen fresh terms to extend his stay at Parkhead.

The Scotland international moved to the Glasgow giants on a four-year deal in 2019 from Kilmarnock as Kieran Tierney’s replacement.

After establishing himself as a key member of the Celtic starting line-up, he penned a new deal in November 2021 to extend his stay to 2025.

He remains a vital part of Brendan Rodgers’ side having started every game he has been available for in all competitions this season.

Across 167 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, Taylor has bagged eight goals and provided 25 assists.
