    Bleak int it.

It’s that our hope to * for the lazy obvious option, that is the absolute best case scenario we can hope for in ex-Hun Kevin Muscat being approached and accepting the role.

Think be ruled himself out before the season finished in Japan, being one of two final candidates they were considering between him and Clement.

Because Lampard knocked them back. Who was 100% the first choice, jammy * that he decided he wasn’t interested at all.

Saying that, we stumbled onto Ange after flaunting our goods trying to get our hole off Eddie Howe for bout 6 months or something. Jammiest * thing ever that. Luck balanced out Spurs got knocked back off all sorts and an Aussie director was screaming for Ange. One of them says aye, and no Aussie director at Spurs this season would be far more enjoyable man

Aye looks more and more like luck that we got Ange rather than any strategic plan. Roy Keane's phone must have been out of battery the day Howe finally knocked us back

Or he knocked us back again anyway :56:

We had a good bit of luck that summer. Jenz was our main CB target, missed out on him, CCV on loan instead.

This ones probably unlucky and lucky - Mitoma went to Brighton when he was close to signing same time as Kyogo, so Jota came in on loan instead.

Leigh Griffiths tried to batter into a teenager, got booed coming on as a sub against West Ham for being a creepy paedo, booted out the club next day or so, and we got GG.

But the thing is, whilst it’s lucky the way everything played out, we had * contingency plans, good ones. Riley McGree knocks us back in Jan? Matt O’Riley in instead.

There’s no evidence of that being a thing right now. Don’t even feel there’s a Plan A never mind B through Z

The difference with him back in the team is absolutely staggering. First half was an absolute write off.. but it’s actually a joke that Bernabei is the back up to this guy. Taylor’s not even great but he’s many many tiers above Bernabei

He is miles ahead of Bernabei but he's still frustrating for me as well.

He comes inside too much and there's times we need an overlap or just a bit of width to make space and he doesn't know how to do it.

I hope in the summer, we sign a left-back who can overlap well and swing a decent ball in!

If any team wants to get up the pitch against us or potentially cause us some problems it’s always that cross diagonal on Taylor’s side … Thought he done well for the assist today but still the same problems exist there for me.

Gave the ball away far too many times.

He's simultaneously our best LB and a real weak link.

Was a mixed bag. Couple of very good crosses and a great assist, gave the ball away about 4 times in 10 mins in the 2nd half though

His biggest problem is he doesn't have Starfelt by his side. A player to clear any crosses made when players get past and a defender that can receive or take your passes or recover well.

Great ball in for Idah but there was a 10 min spell second half where he gave the ball away everytime he got it.

Our best option still but again, if we are sitting September 1st still saying that. Christ.

I liked that when he was giving the ball away, though. There was a period where we almost looked like we were starting to slide back into safe backwards passes and he was taking responsibility for making sure we kept the urgency we had been showing and, yes, some of it didn't come off for him. I thought it showed real leadership.

It's all about context (especially game state) for me. If you are 2-1 up or if there's an hour left to go or if you're 15 points ahead in the league, then it's very poor; but at 1-1 and with time running out to basically save the season, I thought he was right to keep taking risks. A draw was no good for us today.

    I genuinely really liked it.

The most hated player in the side yet was able to do what our wide men couldn't and get a decent cross in for the first goal. Never hides but will never win over the boo boys.

And he does that so often, gives the ball away 3 to 4 times in a row. Better than Bernabie but * me.

He gave the ball away a bit, but though he was pretty good overall. He was really trying to be positive, drive us forward and play early balls. Think he really helped up the tempo in the second half.

Got to remember he's also just back from injury..Ive never been a fan but to be fair to him he never hides and leaves everything out there...the drop off when he's injured is frightening..it's so important him Johnson and CCV stay fit the rest of the season.
