Interesting comments on Greg Taylor. A player often unfairly vilified by sections of our support. This is why it's important to have professional.managers in charge of the team and selection ahead of sit at home gamers.

An absolute shitebag of a boy. Hearts player down time wasting in the first half and their keeper threw the ball out for a shy. Whilst the player was getting treatment he was getting told by the crowd to not give it back to the point he went and asked Mcgregor who said no. He then proceeded to give it to Palma and tell him to put it out

He was aslo raging with Palma when Taylor played a ball 10 yards too long and went out for a goal kick.

It's seems to be his way. Moan at everyone else to hide his own many, many failings. We've all played 5s with a * like him. How better players allow this wee gimp to scream and shout at them and blame them is beyond me. He'd be getting told to * off

The abuse Taylor gets is out of order. Not because he's a brilliant player. He isn't. But because he's an honest guy who tries his best and that is all you can ask. If he's not up to the required standard then it's up to the club to replace him with better. It's not his fault if they don't. Rodgers picks the team at the end of the day.

And we all, including the manager, know how to get his performance raise up a level. * BR’s done it at times this year when he’s really needed a turn and to up the performance levels in the team, then the tactics revert to what we know Taylor is really not suited for.

I might be giving a massive amount of leeway for guys on the pitch right now, because I think they’re carrying out the instructions they’ve been told to do. And the instructions there aren’t changing, unless BR’s desperate and turns to ones he knows gets a better turn out of certain guys - Like Taylor going inverted.

I'll probably get slaughtered for this especially after my comments about Scales and Starfelt. But here goes, I think given the injuries we have to Hatate and Iwata and Turnbull not suited to playing with the other 2, I'd give Taylor a go at the holding mid position. He gets criticised for not being a LB in the KT mould as he lacks pace and the ability to beat a man but he has a lot of the attributes of a DM. He has a bit of dig and energy and is pretty tough for his size, he always makes himself available, he's pretty good at finding a pass and retaining possession when space is tight and he can play a decent forward pass. We could play Scales, Ralston or Frame at LB.
It won't happen but I think given the lack of other options it would be worth a try.

With you on the other thread. Not on this at all.

Think he'd get ripped to shreds in that position in all honesty.

He's surely got more to give from an energy and dig point of view than Turnbull or Holm and that's mostly what we're missing in midfield I think.
Anyway it was just a thought - a pointless one as players rarely get tried in other positions - unless it's McGregor at LB :)

If * lawwell junior was doing his job properly we would have had a big physical left back bought in the summer and Taylor would be sitting on his * on the bench .
And to bring in 9 players in the summer and the two priority signings was a goalkeeper and left back and didn't bring a player for either is a * P45 for lawwell junior but I won't hold my breath on that one because father wouldn't allow it and that's what's all wrong at Celtic at the moment.

He's pretty much playing there anyway. He's never in the left back position (see the killie winner the other week).
For me him being in the middle of the park the majority of the time is why we are so poor. He's a bang average player and outwith Mcgregor he probably has more touches and passes (generally backwards) than any other player hence why we have been so * this season.

Reminds me of the covid season where Mcgregors game nose dived bcoz he was having to carry, the dead weight beside him

Totally agree, and I’ve said this a lot in the past. In Ange’s inverted role, Taylor was basically a midfielder, and that was the best he’s played in his whole career.
