Without a doubt he's been moved back to inverted, and what a difference it's made. Fair play to Rodgers for recognising it and playing him to his strengths.

That's one thing I'd credit Rodgers with over Ange as a manager now and in his previous stint here, he's less married to playing his set system at all times and much more willing to tweak the formation/tactics to suit what he's working with or the teams we're up against.

At the same time though, we’d never have knew Taylor was effective in the inverted role if it wasn’t for Ange.

If only he could take a throw in he’d be world class though..

If only we had a set piece coach to coach throw ins, corners, free kicks and penalty's.

Watching him now, he is a key player in the way the team attacks. He is just half a yard away from being an absolute elite player as he doesn't quite have the pace. His energy and workrate is as good as anyone's and the fact Rodgers allows him to roam gives an idea of how much he trusts him.

Surprised this thread hasn't been bumped, I thought he was excellent again.

Long-term I expect Rodgers will want to bring in an Overlapping fullback, but Taylor was a big part of a lot of our attacks today, he's been excellent since reverting back to his inverted role.

Mad how much better he is in that inverted role. Is he dragging the opposition winger in with him because there never seems to be as many points in the game where he has to defend 1on1 when he plays inverted.

Still just lacks that bit of pace at times but looking far better lately.

Did well with that one on one he had in the first half. Could have had something going forward as well, if the pass to him was better.

He’s actually been very good lately tbh I’ll give him his credit but I wonder how we will shape up for Wednesday. Surely he’ll have to play the more traditional full back role as if he goes more inverted there will be a bigger space left for their winger. Rodgers has set us up pretty well I think in the two CL games tbf so hoping Taylor has a belter of a game along with the rest. Domestically though he’s been solid last few games

He smothers the supply to the wing and is very good at picking and choosing when to go in the middle and when to cover. He’s built for that role

He's good enough for the SPFL and clearly prefers the inverted role, which he's been doing lately and well.

However, that covid season ended any tie ins I had with sentiment and Celtic. LB is up there along with GK, DMF that needs quality added. It was glaringly obvious then as it is now.

We want progression, then a new LB is needed. Regardless of how brilliant Taylor is.

Bernie can go when this is sorted.

I like Taylor, he gives his all in every game and gets away with his lack of ability in our league, in Europe though it’s a bit different, lazio seemed to target his position for any long ball and I’m dreading A. Madrid will do the same, just as well our CH’s are solid and hopefully Scales can help cover Taylor’s lack of height and positional sense

Both goals down his side. Naive with the pen and then super hesitant with the challenge for the second. Feels we are a left back and goalkeeper away from being decent
