It does definitely mate, but we need to play to the strengths of the guys we have playing. If he doesn’t trust Berny, who can do the attacking full back, then you let Taylor go in the middle to support rather than just hoping that’ll be the 90 minutes he can be a Roberto Carlos.

Mid-level spfl. That's him. He can play inverted going forward well enough. But he's slow, weak and easy to get by. This should be a top priority for next signing.

There’s no doubt that Taylor is a man down on the wing but more effective being central. Not sure if Rodgers is trying to highlight deficiencies by playing him in the traditional role? Surely he wouldn’t have to do that to justify signing someone?

    * knows it’s just not making much sense

Lol to even attempt to blame Taylor and Ralston for todays goalless performance just shows up certain Celtic fans for the idiots they are. We failed to score a * goal against St Johnstone, the attacking players need * shooting (yes I know * full backs can contribute to the attack blah blah). Players like Abada seem to somehow escape criticism, the little * contributes * all in the majority of matches and you could genuinely be forgiven for forgetting he is on the pitch at all at times. He came off the bench today and was * abysmal as he usually is but let’s blame the fact we scored no goals on Taylor and poor old Tony * Ralston. Headcase *.

I remember us playing Maeda on the right for a bit away at St Mirren and thinking how stinking he was..

Aye I like him on the left because he's a right footer and tricky but he played a lot of his football on the right side and i'm sure he said it himself but could be wrong..

He has the ability to square up players in tight areas and get by them, on the right he needs to do that more against a tight defence, on the left for us it’s probably more suitable.

Think with more space to go at players for teams that don’t face a low block every week it’s different.

Rodgers is stubborn and sticks to his the way he feels the game should be played. *, that is also Ange that, every top class manager has that arrogance and belief.

But both have also shown that they can sacrifice a bit of that to work towards it in the end up, Rodgers hasn’t done that yet this time round. Ange done it through sheer numbers and necessity and made sure it’d never need happen again.

BR wouldn’t be back here without certain guarantees about it being different than last time round, where he ended up arguing with the board publicly really. It’s the one thing that gives me hope for the upcoming week.

You dont become poor overnight, i believe that to be the case with Maeda as well, i just dont know if they will be suited to the new system which may expose their weaknesses.

Was * today again tbh. Was night and day between the full backs on either side today AJ was class. Same can be said for Maeda and Yang

He wasn't * today. He was one of our better players. Didn't do anything wrong and made a few good passes and runs. Our midfielders and creative players in the final 3rd were more the problem. But the biggest issue is our lack of effective tactics.

I genuinely thought he was * mate. Our midfielders n creative players were * aswell. But I don’t think I seen Taylor try get up n overlap/support Yang once with st Johnstone sitting so deep. He was slow on the ball, he gave the ball away with * passes n * shot attempts, also anytime the ball broke down our left it was just scales (also *) back there defending as Taylor would be further up or gone central. So yeah I think he was gash tbh like the last couple of games. IMO we really need a left back. Like I said difference between him and AJ was night and day

He's never going to be AJ. Completely different types of players. Taylor isn't a typical overlapping FB but has other qualities like passing into the final 3rd and ball retention and always making himself available. He does make runs down the wing and at one point in the 2nd half he took 2 defenders with him which created a lot of space inside for Yang.
He definitely wasn't the problem yesterday and played ok but there just seems to be an anti-Taylor bandwagon starting up again.

You need these guys to fill in for injuries and allow us to rest players. The problem comes when you have to play them all together. We can't have a squad full of top players - we can't afford it and they wouldn't come to sit on a bench or in the stand in Scotland.

Agree. Too many fans desperate to blame Taylor and Hart for our failure to score and create against St Johnstone or Killie. Some fans need scapegoats. The constantly derided Hart, who hasn't cost any cheap goals in a competitive match that I can think of, saves us twice yesterday from further embarrassment.
