He's needed upgraded from the minute he stepped in the door. Even under Postecoglou as soon as we went up a level you could see his deficiencies. It's nothing new.

Utterly hopeless today and has been since Rodgers came in.

Love the guy but I would genuinely play Bernebei there instead at the minute.

Bernebei is a new level of utter incompetence. A headless chicken who has no qualities whatsoever as a defender.

Guy on that Celtic Fans TV on YouTube made a good point yesterday. The one and only time Taylor came infield the way he did in Postecoglou's system, the killie players didn't know how to handle it and ended up playing a lovely through ball for, I think Abada.

Aside his obvious limitations he's too easily shrugged off the ball.

This position and goalkeeper has been a priority all summer and with 2 weeks of the window left we have still not addressed it and that's a * joke and get the finger out pronto as another couple of displays like yesterday the fans will be not be happy.

I loved him under Ange, he was perfect in that role, his worst offence last season was letting Sakala by him a few times.

He's already had more bad games this season than the entirety of last season, I get that Rodgers himself isn't helping, but he's been utterly woeful.

Tell you what annoys me most, we know he can’t play an attacking full back role, we know when he can be at his best.

So if you as a manager knows that, just allow him to go inverted to support the middle until you have somebody who can play the role you want to see there.

No point hanging a player out to dry getting them to do something they can’t.

Kevin van veen absolutely destroyed him too.

For all the praise he got last season it was really due to the manger playing a system that allowed him to avoid pretty much every job a full back has to do.

He's not a full back, he'd probably make a decent enough defensive midfielder at an Aberdeen or somewhere. Bit like graeme shinnie, a * left back but could do a job as a hawd carrier in midfield for a team with little ambition.

    Agree with that mate..

The alarm bells are ringing out loud aren't they? Maeda at right wing and seeing how pish he was, didn't change it to where he's more comfortable on the left with Yang who by his own admission is a right winger..

    Hmm..

He’d be a baby Calmac of a deep lying playmaker for an Aberdeen if he was played there, no a carrier or hassler of a player.

That Van Veen goal was the worst he done all year. He was so essential last year, but he is perfectly built for the role Ange gave him.

That role is still an option for us until we can replace it. Forcing players to play styles there * at, because its how the manager likes to play, is bad management.

Play what suits the team, until you change it to what suits what you want to play as a manager.

Was kinda pishing myself at the cheek I had last season saying just put Maeda right and Jota left, Maeda won’t be any different on the right and he’s right footed and Jota on the left was a joy, on the right he was effective.

The * cheek I had questioning him. That’s why Daizen wasn’t on the right :56:

has yang said that btw? From what I’ve seen of him so far I thought looks so much better from the left.

Forgot about the Van Veen thing, was * from Taylor too.

I don't disagree, I think his future lies in midfield, but not here, he ain't good enough to play the traditional fullback role.

Van Veen at that point if we’re being fair, was on one of they runs anything he done was brilliant.

It was * from Taylor but it’s the one thing we could definitively pick out from him last year and say that was * and a mistake.

The rest of criticism he got at all was usually, in my opinion anyway, vague as * and a load of *.

He let Sakala get by him quite easily on multiple occasions tbh, was his biggest weakness.

Anyway, he was excellent last season, and fit Ange's system like a charm. He doesnt fit the traditional fullback role at all unfortunately.

Being totally honest i’d rather not go back to the inverted full back role and just focus on getting full backs that can bomb up and down the wing. I think being inverted leaves us narrow as * and sceptical to counter attacks

Are you thinking of when Jura came on at the left and Sakala pumped him? Taylor either not playing against them or getting injured against them that Jura time was massive blows to us.

But aye, he does not suit an attacking full back hugging the line role at all.

So we should either have somebody in who does already or playing to the strengths of who we have there already.

Last week the Kilmarnock game he went in the middle for about 5 minutes and done a belter of a defence splitting pass.

You can tell he wasn’t supposed to be in the middle though and just naturally ended up there, because he was nailed to the touchline after that.
