Definitely didn't help that Haksabanovic was also infront of him. That's a seriously slow side of the pitch when those two are playing and both don't compliment each other at all..

Haksabanovic needs someone quick to overlap so he can cut in to a bit of space on that right foot and Taylor needs someone who can track back and help him out also..

All that said (and this isn't forgetting how valuable he's been in a Celtic jersey under the last manager), we badly need someone who can come straight in to the side. Someone with quality who can defend one on one and who can go by a man and make something happen..

If the new manager prefers Maeda as say a second choice striker behind Kyogo then Taylor is in even more trouble with us likely no playing the inverted fullbacks. Means if we sign the Brazilian as a replacement for Jota, he'll be far more suited to say a Gudmundsson overlapping than a Taylor..

I know its harsh because he did have a good season last season.

But at times against better opposition he can look like an under 17 playing in a man's team.

He hasn't looked great recently, wonder if he's struggling to take to Brendan's system.

Even if he was playing excellent, we need another LB in to properly challenge him this season.

Able back up but at this level he's just never going to be able to do what we need him to do. He just can't overcome his physical deficiencies, simple as that. Even with his improvement last couple of years this issue was always going to rear its head when moving up to a higher level. We need an AJ at LB.

Playing as an inverted full back was 100% suited to Taylor, and last season he was excellent in that role. He isn’t the answer if we are going to play our full backs in a conventional way however.

Got to agree. It's harsh but true that he's a capable player on the ball with a fantastic attitude but gets exposed too often by his lack of strength and pace.

Wee Bernie isn't good enough and needs punted, GT should be back up to our first choice LB, someone with more pace and a bit of guile.

It's harsh on him considering how well he's done the last two seasons but that's pretty much it in a nutshell, if we're not going to play inverted anymore then we need to upgrade to someone with a bit more power and pace.

Playing the system we did today, Bernabei is actually probably more suited to it than Taylor.

Attacking wise i think wee Bernie is actually quite good, but he has no defensive awareness regardless of whatever formation you would put him in, for me he's been a waste of money.

Hard to argue with that, but I think has better attributes than Taylor to play as a conventional full back. Certainly better natural attributes anyway.

he didn't even get on the pitch, my guess is Rodgers doesn't think so. He must be getting a loan out, if he was staying I think he would have got 20 minutes. I could possibly see him in a back 5 but that's it

He should have got 45 as Taylor should have been hooked at half time. He was getting roasted.

Yeah i would agree with that, and that's the frustrating thing, he has more in his locker than GT, but Taylor is the more stable and reliable player albeit he is limited.

Wee Bernie has some great attributes no question about it, we all really wanted him to be a success.

Fit perfectly into Ange's system but as a proper LB we need better.

I wouldn't punt him tho as seems the type that could develop over time.

He's not even that good. Can go by a man and his crossing is decent but hard to say good attacking wise when his passing is atrocious.
He's 100% been a waste of money and serious questions should be asked of whoever scouted him

id keep him as I think he's decent and would stick around Celtic being second choice to be honest playing 15 games a season.
