Might be in the minority here but I thought he was our weak spot yesterday. Think his lack of pace and physicality got him into trouble a few times.

He's been brilliant the last 18 months but I'd love to see us bring another left back in with more athleticism and power.

I'd agree, im a fan of him and like him as well but the reality is even garbage like Sakala can trouble him if they get on a run and a ball slipped in.

Where as Johnston, nobody in the League could dream of getting past him.

The left-back though i'd say doesn't need to be starting every week quality, just decent enough that he could be used in bigger games and in Europe as Taylor is really good in the League and one of the big parts of how we play.

It's unlikely we could get someone who can play like Taylor but also has the qualities of Johnston as even Juranovic was a bit like that yet never really as good as Taylor creatively.

The way that Balogun from the huns played at right-back for them a couple of times, a left-back guy like that, big athlete and defender who could do a job now and again I think would be good enough.

I think if we had an exact replica of Johnston but left-footed and a left-back we would lose a wee bit of creativity in League games, as Taylor looks really natural around midfield, the way he recieves a ball, the positions he gets into and all that. Not all full-backs will be that natural in there and it does add a lot to our team.

    100%..

Don't think anyones saying new left back in and Taylor bye bye. Just that we could do with the option..

If we're to go to the next level, it's one of those positions that could and should be improved upon..

Taylor will still get loads of game time anyway. Bernabei isn't the answer for me..

Taylor dragging Barasic back off the ground was hilarious.

I actually thought he was good yesterday, our entire defence was tbf.

We do need another LB however, no doubt about that, sell Bernabei (We'll only make a small loss on him imo) and bring in a LB similar to Johnston.

I think many of us now realise Bernabei is not going to make it here, he wasn't even in the squad yesterday, same for Welsh.

We definitely need another left back in the summer, similar mould to Johnson, or we are * if Taylor ever gets a nasty injury. Not wishing it on him.

Greg Taylor has seemingly aimed a thinly-veiled dig at Rangers ace Todd Cantwell.

The Celtic left-back was up against the former Norwich attacker during Sunday's fiercely contested Scottish Cup semi-final.

The game finished 1-0 to the Hoops at Hampden, with Jota scoring the only goal of the afternoon.

One of the other major talking points of the game was Cantwell's performance.

The midfielder was a standout for Michael Beale's side, although he has come in for some criticism for his noising up of Celtic's players, namely Reo Hatate and Taylor.

But the latter insists he enjoyed his clash with the 25-year-old, however, did appear to warn him to do his talking on the pitch from now on.

He told the media: "He's just another opponent. Everyone tries to give their best out there.

"We just do our talking on the pitch and some could learn from that."

He continued: "I thought in the first half we had good control of the game, played our football, and had a deserved lead. Then Rangers had the incentive to get the equaliser.

"We were under a bit of pressure but the whole team held up well and, in these cup ties, it's important to get the win and we did that.

"We've got such a strong mentality in all games because we don't treat any different. The next game's the most important regardless of the occasion, that's the philosophy the manager's brought in, we don't waste a session or a game. When it comes to these big games, it helps.

"Rangers are a good opponent, let's not be unfair. They're difficult games, you've seen how close they've been. When it comes to these games they are so difficult but we've got the same mentality for every game and I think that does help."

Along with CCV, Greg is my favorite current player. He plays with such passion and proved a lot of wary naysayers wrong. That being said, we do need a better backup for him.

Let's be honest Taylor is keeping the shirt warm for KT
Anyone else think Andy Robertson would be brilliant in this Ange team.

He's been superb for sometime now, certainly under Ange, but do agree didn't think he was at our best, but he hasn't for a few games but he has been carrying a knock I'm sure.

Thought he was excellent at Hampden, too many people made their minds up on him early and still to this day won’t budge on it.

He is one of our best players and an extremely crucial one at that.

I agree we could do with another LB and loan Bernabei out.

However we will struggle to find someone who plays the system as easily as Taylor does IMO. The difference when he isn't in the side is noticeable.

I liked the look of the Union Saint Gilloise LB against the Huns and when I watched them last week he looked good again. Lapoussin.

Wait, chatting * apparently he's primarily a LM.
