Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has responded to comments made by Scotland manager Steve Clarke surrounding the fitness of left-back Greg Taylor.

The national team boss revealed he did not select Taylor for his his latest squad due to injury "issues" the former Kilmarnock man has been playing through.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was left out of the USA squad for a similar reason

And now Postecoglou has given his thoughts on the situation

He said: “We provide all the relevant information to the international teams then it’s up to them to decide whether they call the players up or not, but from our perspective Greg’s available and will play (on Saturday).

"It’s the same with Cameron. It’s up to the international manager and their medical team to decide whether they call them up or they decide to leave them this time for rehab purposes.

"I wouldn’t read too much into it, both will play on Saturday. All players have some issues here and there at different times and we manage them as best we can.”

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has addressed Greg Taylor's injury status after his early substitution in the SPFL Premiership match against Ross County on Sunday.

The Scotland international clashed knees with Staggies defender Connor Randall and, although initially fine to continue, was forced off holding the area in the 65th minute.

Jota had struck from the spot shortly before half-time to put Celtic ahead after Alex Iacovitti had been penalised for handball.

Postecoglou referenced Taylor's withdrawal in his post-match comments.

He said: "He's alright, I think it's just a dead leg. He got a bit of a knock and was struggling with it but it's nothing too serious."

Taylor always plays well against Rangers, they get no joy down his side.

Thought he read the game brilliantly yesterday. There was a moment that they were breaking inside our right and he came across and complete stopped their play and turned the ball over.

What the * was he doing there? He is by far the most improved player in the squad under Ange. My only concern is that the drop down in quality is massive when he is out.

I dont think Bernabei has what it takes. I hope he pulls a Taylor on us all but I'm not holding out much hope.
