You are implying that any 'selfless' performance is down to the lack of ability/poor performance of another player on that individuals team. You should first explain why you think that is.

To directly address you opinion, it could be that rangers were not as strong on their left, tactical decisions etc. many reasons without railroading the conversation to your preconceived and ultimately opinionated outcomes.

Also, maedas tracking back and winning the ball back mainly happened around the half way line so nothing to do with covering for taylor.

I deal in facts with Taylor, and the fact of the matter is balls were consistently lumped down his side by every European side we faced this season.

Maeda is played on the left because Taylor needs support, whilst Juarnovic and Johnson on the right didn’t/don’t. This means Jota is played out of position.

Most top fullbacks with limited pace know how to position themselves to mitigate the pace of quick opponents.

Taylor can’t do that, hence why Jota is handicapped out on the right whilst Maeda gets hailed for being ‘everywhere’ on the left.

An alright player is Taylor, but nowhere near the standard he gets made out to be on here.

Not for the first time this season either. The 4-0 game they missed a couple of big chances when it was 1-0 from their left hand side.

Yeah if Taylor had stayed on we would've won that match. A disinterested and out of position Juranovic gave them a huge boost, and it still wasn't enough.
