What a player this guy is. One of the most important in our squad and contender for POTY.

Was everywhere tonight, and showed why he should take a pop more often when he's around the box. Always picks up great spaces.

Everything left-back Greg Taylor said to Celtic TV after the the SPFL Premiership champions' 3-0 victory over Livingston on Wednesday evening...

    Thoughts on the goal?

I am prolific against Livingston it seems. I would say it is between those two [for his favourite goals].

Was patience important during this match?

I thought we had good control during the first half. It was just about taking our time and taking our chances. Once we got that first goal it then makes it more difficult for Livingston because their plan is to frustrate and we capitalised on that in the first half.

That is the sixth clean sheet in a row. You must be proud of the defence at the moment?

Exactly. There are a lot of boys contributing to that. It is not just the defenders or Joe Hart. It is the whole team and it starts with Kyogo Furuhashi's pressing and even Oh's [Hywon-gyu] when he came on. There have been lots of boys contributing to that so we are really pleased with that.

How does it feel to be back from injury after getting another 90 minutes under your belt?

Definitely. It is disappointing to get injured at any time but the boys just kept battering out the wins. Hopefully, we can keep doing that until the end of the season.

Greg Taylor has had a fantastic season and he was the man of the match tonight. That was a very important opening goal, wasn't it?

Yeah, it was. He has been fantastic this year. He is continuing to improve and continuing to learn and he gets into these good areas and he can finish which helps us. In a game like tonight, the opposition will try and negate our obvious threats. The beauty of it is that we are sharing the goals around and it is not just our attacking players but everyone is contributing.

He takes on a lot of responsibility when McGregor's being tightly marked. I actually mistook him for McGregor more than once tonight. About as high a compliment as I could pay him.

Everything Celtic defender Greg Taylor had to say ahead of the Hoops taking on St Mirren in the Scottish Cup.

How are you feeling about this weekend? It is St Mirren but it is in the Scottish Cup?

Yes. It is another competition we don't change how we prepare. We prepare every day the same and we are hoping to win on the day.

Given you didn't win the Scottish Cup last season, does that give you an extra incentive?

I wouldn't say it was an added incentive because in every competition we enter we aim to give our best and compete right to the end. The Scottish Cup is no different but I wouldn't say it was an added incentive as we are not driven by negatives or defeats. We are driven by trying to make ourselves better every day.

The manager has brought in four new faces in January, how do you think that has helped the squad and added to the competition for places?

Hopefully, the new additions will push us on. They are all eager to contribute to what has already been a successful start to the season. I am sure they will do that as the season goes on.

St Mirren is the only team to beat Celtic this season. Has that played a part in the preparation for the game at all?

No, I wouldn't say so. We prepare the same every game and focus on ourselves and we try to get better every game. Tomorrow is another opportunity to do that so we know we need to win on the day because in cup competitions you only get one chance. We know we have to be right at it.

Giorgos Giakoumakis was a big presence in the dressing room and around the group how has it been seeing him leave? I am sure you wish him well.

Giako (Giakoumakis) was a big part of the success we had last season and contributed this season and he will be missed. He was a great character around the building and we wish him well in his next challenge.

What are your thoughts on the Super League? What do you guys make of it as players do you focus on that? Can you focus on that?

I'll be honest I did not know that was a thing until you just mentioned it there. This is groundbreaking news to me if there is going to be a second Super League. I don't know. I genuinely didn't know it was a thing so I can't really comment.

You mentioned that you only get one chance in cup competitions. Do you find that frees the shackles of the opposition?

Yes, I would probably say so. In the league, it is over an extended period so you know teams can maybe make up ground later on but in cup games, you only get one chance and maybe players do free up a bit. We need to be ready for that as St Mirren are having a great season themselves and they'll be right at it as well.

You were injured for the recent league game which Celtic won 4-0. It seems like a doing but Celtic were very good on the night and played some decent stuff. Is St Mirren one of the tougher teams to play against this season?

I think every game brings its own challenges. You look at the last round of the cup when we played Morton, up until the penalty they had started the game really well. St Mirren have been a difficult opponent this season and they are having a good season.

The manager has been linked with the job at Leeds United, I am not expecting you to comment on that but as a group of players when you see or hear the manager or any player linked with a move down south or abroad do you think it's a good thing for the club? Is it a sign that the club are doing well and having a successful period?

To be honest, I don't take much notice of it. As players, we just focus on improving in training every day and our job within the building. We are at a massive club as it is. I think links to other clubs only come when the team and staff are performing well. We just focus on ourselves within the building.

Greg Taylor makes pointed 'big job' claim amid Postecoglou-Leeds talk and has say on own future
Greg Taylor has warned English Premier League suitors that turning Ange Postecoglou's head may be easier said than done after insisting the Celtic manager is already in a “big job” that he “loves”.

Postecoglou is believed to be one of the candidates Leeds are considering as they look to replace the sacked Jesse Marsch, with the Australian having previously been linked with vacancies at Wolves, Evertonand Chelsea. Taylor insists Celtic players are ignoring the speculation ahead of Saturday's Scottish Cup fifth round hosting of St Mirren with the left-back firmly of the belief that Postecoglou is more than happy in his current role at Parkhead.

"He's in a big job here," Taylor emphasised. "We're a massive club and I'm sure he loves it because we all love playing under him and playing for this club, so that's all we focus on. We don't focus on outer noise or these things. We focus on what we can control and that's improving every day, trying to find our best levels in training and if we do that it means we'll be ready for the game at the weekend. That's all we've done this week. We all love playing under the manager and we're all trying to impress him every day. Of course [the interest is to be expected]. We've won a lot of games and doing it playing attacking football. But I think there's also a lot of development and improvement we can do in the coming months and years. Hopefully that's what we will do

Taylor's own future at the club is settled for the next two years at least with the defender under contract until 2025 with no thoughts yet of what might happen beyond the expiry of his current deal. "I generally just focus on the next day," he said. "I've got so many improvements in my game that I still have to make and I try to improve every day. I love playing for this club. It's an enormous club. We get 60,000 every week and we play an attacking brand of football under a great manager. I do love every minute of it but I don't even look as far as the next week never mind two years down the line."
