In all honesty, if we’re going down that route, it’s yous lot who come across as spending a wee bit too much time with him.

I’ll say it again: I work with stats, examples, and professional opinions when debating Taylor’s ability. You lot just slabber out buzzwords and childish jibes like the above.

Hey now, just because I was drooling when I wrote that out doesn't mean I was slabbering. I was just thinking about the next time I was going to spend with Greg.

Aye but that’s also a lesson for Starfelt to be more commanding when blocking the cross.

They should be proud of him, leading by example with his strong protestant work ethic.

If a forum full of grown men want to enjoy the company of Greg Taylor of an evening what is to you?

Which is why you go missing anytime he has a belter of a game is it? Can't handle what your stats are telling you so you run and hide.

According to you lot every game has been a ‘belter’. So I’m a bit confused by that ‘point’.

I think @G40B has been a tad harsh on Taylor because he has performed better than I anticipated in the CL. He has put in some respectable performances over the 6 games and been very consistent in domestic football.

Saying that, he isn't without his faults and it's clear that Leipzig and Madrid in particular have targeted him (and Juranovic to a lesser extent). He was terrible vs Madrid, most of their attacking impetus came from that side, he struggled badly and that's with Maeda helping him who is known for his defensive work.

The hun accusations and constant jumping on his posts are tiresome. The guy has his right to an opinion; it's not like it's an outlandish one. Despite the progress he's made, Taylor (and many others) will probably never be cut out for the highest levels of elite football. That isn't to say be might not be one day, but at the moment I don't see it either.

Tbf you also dismiss stats, examples, and professional opinions when it doesn't suit your agenda.

Quite simply can’t afford to be leaving him out anymore he’s that important to us. Unfortunate on Bernabei but he needs to be on the pitch.

This is a realistic assessment of him.

He's having a really good breakout season domestically, but I don't see him pushing onto that next level. It's like Ralston last season, he's working hard, finding a way to contribute, and exceeding people's expectations. But if we sign a JJ quality player on the left, he'll be relegated to the bench for the important games. There's a ceiling on what he can do.

I know people love an underdog and he's got a great work ethic and attitude, but when people start talking about him being one of our best players, it begins to lose touch with reality. He's invaluable to us in the team right now but that's only relative to the other players in his position. In terms of the market, his actual value is probably like a couple mil.

Key that off the line save, brilliant from him again. You can see just how much joy Jota gets playing with him as well, that play between Taylor, Hatate (I think) and Jota that ended with GG’s wee back heel was brilliant.
