Good guy, professional servant but, this sound impersonal and harsh, easily upgradable...and should be.

Much like Ralston who's had a stormer of a season...as a whole they are a quality of player that can and should be improved on.

It's pretty simple imo. If we want to continue to progress then we need a new FIRST CHOICE left back. I have never been a fan, though I will say he's had games when he's been excellent, the three nil at parkhead and the St Johnstone game just there, but overall he's a squad player. I just hope Ange sees it the same

Happy to have him at the club, but he isn't first choice LB calibre for us.
He is a solid and dependable backup who can have his games of brilliance.

We need an Izzy, KT or a Josip (but actually left sided) to be in ahead of him, where Taylor covers for injury, rests, cup games etc.

Absolutely agree with everything there. I like Taylor and he is a solid consistent player who considering we play 60 odd games a season has a valuable role to play in the squad just like Ralston does on the right. But we do need a Juranovic level left back to come in this summer I feel.

Big Ange is going to have to be ruthless this Summer, quite a few players are going to need to be moved on or take more of a back seat next season if we're to make some strides in Europe

    Hart
Juranovic CCV New CB New LB
    Bitton
    CalMac O'Riley
    New RW Kyogo New LW
I like big Joe Hart, but I'd be lying to say we can't do better when it comes to Europe, he's a significant upgrade on Barkas/Bain but not close to a Boruc or Forster imo, he's been great to have in this season of transition though

Also as much as I love big Bitton, if we can find another Wanyama monster type to sit in front of the defence instead, then that would be great

Would like to see Jullien try to build a partnership with CCV but if Ange doesn't fancy Jullien then I'd be looking for a new partner to pair with CCV, Starfelt has been much better this half of the season but I still don't have much faith in his ability to step up in Europe

He’s the kind of guy I love having in the squad. Does what the manager wants him to and is a valuable member of the team on and off the pitch but we do need better and that’s no disrespect to him, because he’s stood up to be counted at key moments this season.

He’ll remain a vital player for us next season, even with us going and buying another left back option which is pretty much nailed on IMO.

And that’s exactly what we want out of a squad player I think. Look at Ralston this season for one, firmly behind Juranovic for RB, could make a convincing argument he’s been the more vital player for us this year.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if Taylor keeps a more talented player out of the team, and gets a lot of flak for it, because he’s doing what Ange wants more than whoever is brought in and he feels it makes the team play better.

When Taylor nails the Inverted role, I think that’s when McGregor’s by far at his best.

As long as we’ve got Juranovic and Ralston fit no need to rush him for me, I hope he’s fit for the game against them at Parkhead though.

He can lay the claim to being the best player for us against them this season.

    Couldn't agree more.

And it really is no disrespect to either Taylor or Ralston. We need two for every position and we can't have two world class multi million players in each position. So I would be very happy with both Taylor and Ralston playing that role and bursting their * to sometimes keep the higher valued player out the team. They may just come on leaps and bounds yet again and steal the first team position for themselves long term.

The thing about Ralston for me is he does the the stuff that Jura’s not the best at to a high level, he’s not the same quality as him but by * his output, end product and heart will push him every inch of the way for a place infront of him.

We need that sort of situation on the othe side of the pitch. You can see Ange finds Taylor very dependable, he trusts him. We’ve heard about players finding him as one of the leaders in the team, for me you can definitely see how much he tries to support Callum McGregor in particular on the pitch and is very unselfish. This season he’s stood up in the games against them and the Cup Final.

That is very commendable, and I’m delighted he’s here with us. But we can get better quality than him.

He has the heart and the brain for me. But not the physical attributes that’s needed, too slow, too weak, too small. Which is a shame.

Signs that he’s learning still though, because he consistently outmuscled Joe Aribo, who’s much bigger and more athletic than him.

Think there are a few injuries still in the squad, so the more potentially available the better.

Obviously if we have cover then that's less pressing but would like to know that for certain.

If JJ and Taylor’s out, with Scales seemingly being out the picture just now, I’d probably opt for Bitton in the 6 and McGregor as the inside LB.

He was my first thought but the guys clearly * knackered as well, he needs a couple of weeks out never mind a change of position you need to run more.

Aye I would agree but he'll still be called upon for the run in and knows the position comfortably..

One thing that hasn't been mentioned was his celebration on Sunday.

I know it sounds daft on paper, and I wasn't expecting him to not celebrate, but you can tell he was beyond delighted to score against them, like proper delighted.

You can tell he detests them.

He even done a bit of badge thumping as well, never expected that but I think you can tell that he is starting to turn this season, seems to be buying into everything on and off the field
