Tactically smart, great work rate and gives 100% effort every game but does lack the extra skill, pace and ability to run with a ball you'd want. Managers probably like him though as he never really gets beaten much defensively, always gets into good positions and runs all day so probably why we don't seem to be going for a first choice left-back as after every game they probably think he had been spot on and done everything asked.

Definitely need a left-back who can run with the ball and beat a guy.

He's really bad. Overhit it by miles today....although did get one decent pick out..

Passing is really poor. Usually a nothing pass under any pressure and he'll give it away in our own half..

The worst one was when he dallied on the ball second half by the centre circle almost Jack Hendry like, tried to do a bit of trickery and gave it away. So bad..

I know what you're saying but I massively disagree with the bit in bold. Aye, in games like today, he won't be beaten when we're completely dominating against dross. But against literally any half-decent side or against a winger that has a wee bit of pace or power he often gets skinned. In most of our European games this season he's been actively targeted and struggles to maintain composure in possession. Even that Ginnelly for Hearts nutmegged him and beat him a few times last week after coming on as a sub.

If we are not looking for a new LB to replace Taylor then that's a massive concern IMO. We can carry him in games like today and he may even chip in with a few assists or some decent link-up play, but he is nowhere near good enough for the style of football we want to implement and the type of team we want to be. Ralston has gone up a few levels and is beating men for fun, scoring, strong as a bull, defensively solid, gliding past players, playing lovely passes. Taylor, for all his tidy play (domestically), just looks like someone who just doesn't have that sort of potential.

Would be a decent enough if he could hit the bye line and put a decent cross in. Just don't believe he has these things in his locker.

Was a bit better today however he still gave the ball away a couple of times and that will be punished by better teams. Can't deny he's a trier but we need quality

The weakest link in Ange's system. Can you just imagine KT playing in this system.

Good enough for games like this against St Mirren but I want a Juranovic type left back for Europe and the tougher games

Feel for him. He works his baws aff but just doesn’t have the quality we need. He should be a back up. With him going off, I think we really need a quality LB. also, any word on his injury? Looked like he popped it and it was slipping a few times after.

Has he had that shoulder injury for 2 years!? Bcos it's the exact same grimace he's had on his face.

He was really hamming up that shoulder. If he's got a muscle tear, that's fair enough. But anything short of that raises questions as to his character. A dislocation you just shove back in and get on with it.

haha come on now. That’s not how dislocations work. One thing I don’t think you can really question is his effort. Talent, skill, ability aye but he’s always worked hard in my eyes.
