    Celtic have made a bid for Kilmarnock's Greg Taylor, but the offer fell short of the Ayrshire club's valuation.

    Manager Neil Lennon said on Friday that left-back Taylor is "an option" before the transfer window closes on Monday.

    Sunderland and Nurnberg have made bids for Taylor, 21, with Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio saying the club has yet to receive the "right offer".

    "We're looking for a left-back," said Lennon. "There are a number of options and Greg would be one of those."

    Lennon also said Celtic are "working on a few deals" before the closure of the transfer window on Monday.

    "We might have something today or tomorrow." he said. "I don't have a definitive on that. These things take time.

    "We will be looking to trim a few as well. There's been a bit of interest for players on loan."

    He is no1 target

    Or Melling/Rosenborg have knocked us back in our initial enquiry and it’s went no further.

    Agreed but we're at the end-of-window, posturing stage, exactly what Arsenal did with Tierney. He who blinks first loses.

    Taylor will sign but given he won't play on Sunday, Peter will hold off in the hope that Killie drop the price to speed things up.

    Totally agree.Our logic is so flawed sometimes and often end up costing us more.They now view us as desperate to fill that position with a shed load more cash. Highlights the importance of getting business getting done early.

    Think we are being held to ransom on the price. We need to play hardball back at the likes of Kilmarnock and motherwell who have over priced their players all window. I don't like loans but we can loan a far better left back for the year than pay Kilmarnock mental money .
