Taylor was away for his medical today. That’s why he’s not playing for killie today. Everything is all agreed.

    KDS..

    Playing the guessing game.

Back before social media you would buy a paper to find out the transfer news.

    The internet killed everything.

And players or managers were never criticised.

The post I am replying to mentioned Hartley as an example of succesfull player signed from SPFL from a small team. A guy that was signed in 2007, retired many years ago and is a somewhat experienced manager by now. Surely there arent that many success stories if he has to roll back that far to find a name

Since Hartley I can think of Barry Robson, Charlie Mulgrew, Anthony Stokes, Leigh Griffiths (signed from Wolves, but largely because of two successful campaigns with Hibs), Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie and Scott Bain who signed for Celtic and did/are doing quite well.

In that time we've also seen James McArthur, James McCarthy, Steven Fletcher, Andy Robertson, Jonny Russell, Robert Snodgrass, Ryan Fraser and John McGinn all leave Scotland and go down to England and do quite well for themselves.

Doesn't mean that this uninspiring signing will be good enough. Jack Hendry was uninspiring too

Hendry is uninspiring having seen him in the hoops. The call can't be made until then.

By that reckoning Jackie Mac, Broony, Christie, Armstrong etc... "Uninspiring"

No they weren't. Broony was highly sought after and Jackie Mac looked like a star at Dunfermline. Armstrong was easily a top prospect before we bought him.

Just because someone is Scottish doesnt make them uninspiring. Hendry was uninspiring because he was a complete rookie. His performances for us only confirmed this.

Taylor is, as far as I've seen so far, a run of the mill left back. Uninspiring.

If he turns out half the player that McNamara was I'll be delighted - but I have serious reservations of selling the best left back I've ever seen in the hoops, for a record fee, and then replacing him with this guy.
