Well I'm certain that the guys in the GB are far smarter than the average Hun, so personally speaking I look forward to seeing their banners on match day, especially at the Old Firm games at Parkhead.

I find it worrying if our directors are targeting these young lads.

the point is polic e and stewards are using over the top tactics . i dont agree with all politics of the green brigade but to stop them bringing a bit of atmosphere and a laugh into the game is way over the top in my opinion according to the greenbrigade their tiffa display was not political or sectaring in any way also other groups within the stadium were allowed in with similar flags and banners

Its quite simple really the board is trying to turn parkhead into some kind of tourist destination, pretty soon you will start to see starbucks and other chain stores sprouting up in and around CP, just look what happned at old trafford and anfield, real fans aren't welcome anymore its commercialization my friend. I bet if they have there way, 20 years from now they will turn half of the sections in to luxury boxes. To them, people like the Green Brigade and other noisy non-conformist fans are an affront to what they plan too turn Celtic Park into.

the green brigade got all there stuff took off them before they went in for some reason, the guys in the group were there but they just didnt put up the green brigade banner behind them. i dont see why the police and stewards took it from them as they are let in with banners flags confetti etc at other games :97: imo the green brigade are one of the best things about going to the football

TBH the stwereds in the ground need to give their head a shake, seen a few people thrown out for only giving the huns a bit of stick back. Scum.

Unfair as it is about the banners and flags being taken off them, was that the reason they didn't sing during the match, in protest?

The great John Stein once said that " Football was nothing without the fans ", yes you can have your corporate punters rolling up in their suits, but what sort of noise is generated by a cucumber sandwich being scoffed.

Celtic are and will always will be a team for the common people, our directors get the priviledge of running the club in a custonian role, however don't let them ever forget that Celtic are our club, they can all the shares they want, but when WE DECIDE they have to go, they go !!!

The majority on this board seem to think they know the green brigade more than themselves do

    "wee neds singin rebel songs"

    Aye, Right,

The majority of the Green brigade aren't even teenagers. Certain individuals on this board do nothing but snipe at them while they do nothing wrong.

Thats the general perception about the GB, but its fair to say that they do have a lot of wee * ned hangers-on, who make out theyre actual GB members.

I think its also fair to say that to the majority of Celtic fans couldnt give a flying * about the GB "protests"

If they werent singing in protest because their banners were taken off them, then I'm glad they were removed, I'm * sick of them trying to push that pish St Pauli song on us.........catch on lads you're the only ones that sing it.

Being in Chicago I obviously rarely ever get to see Celtic in person these days unlike when I was a teenager growing up in Dublin.
Whatever about specific issues with the Green Brigade it does seem like the stewards at Celtic Park these days contribute to the very often poor atmosphere by being overly strict.
I have often thought watching games at Celtic Park over the last few years why are there so few banners and flags which can add such great colour and help atmosphere. Especially at a derby game. Then I see games in many other countries and the stadiums look so much more colourful and exciting full of banners and flags as they are.

This thread is heading down a slippery slope and I think the OP has been answered anyway.

That song's good, was dissappointed not to hear it actually. Anything to sing louder than the huns would have done.... but didn't happen:54:

I'm sick of it now, no-one else sings it bar them. Pick a Celtic song that people want to sing, not the things you would like them to sing.

It has been done,i heard them singing Hail Hail,Willie Maley a few games back......they did'nt catch on either.

Too many folk dont want to sing, shout, cheer, stand, roar at parkhead anymore.
