The ratings by the journalist are not on how good the player is, but how good the piece of business was.

To get Miller on a bosman and flog him off for £3 million is a * good bit of business!

Roughly how much of that was good business? In relation to performances and ££ back if he has been sold.

    Boruc
    McDonald
    Miller
Vennegoor - Will be debated forever though.
    Nakamura - Likewise ^^
    Wilson
    Hartley

Some of his signings need more time, Brown, Hinkel etc before judgement can be made IMO. A lot of money has been wasted by GS.

You're right. Hammer's * are barely enough to fill a bikini top. :icon_mrgreen: Must admit I'm flying on painkillers a bit here. I'm surprised the spelling is correct so far...

what imo is wrong with the team imo is signings.
all we sign is damaged goods.
donati- loaned out to half of italy not really getting a regular game
hinkel- demoted to the bench after seville sign alves
tommy g - not a regular with real madrid
then look at who's came here from a club they've been getting a game week in week out
    mcdonald
    nakamura
    scott brown
    boruc

are the tommy's and donati's perpared mentally to do a whole season of grafting?

No wonder the team hasn't gelled and aren't looking like a team... on average around 10 new players a season, that's just stupid

since his first season only 3 regulars still regulars - mcgeady, nakamura and boruc. thats poor in only 3 years. i think strachan is a good manager but at this rate would employ a director of football to deal with transfers and contracts. tbh how can any manger win any more titles easily with those signings albeit by his own doing.

I dont agree with some of the low marks. However it doesn´t half show an amazing amount of poor performers.

MON lost the league after larsson had gone. says it all. we create more chances than we did with MONs team, just cant finish them. sadly we dont have him so we should cope.

luck of the draw. MON got 9 points in the group stages of the CL but other results went against us. WGS has got through with 7 points

Two reasons for that. We were in a lower CPL draw pot under MON and we got unlucky with not going through with nine points.

WGS has done excellent to get us out of the groups with 9 points twice while enjoying a helpful higher pot draw position. I give him enormous credit for qualyfing in his second season. However he deserves credit this year also but we did carry some real luck for a change to get through.

Regards to Larsson in this team ofcourse he would improve us but we would still have the problems further back.

If Henke Hypothetically played in this team and we won everything posible. Then that realy would be a one man team.

Along with inheriting a priceless player in Larsson - MoN also spent £6 million on Hartson, Sutton AND Lennon.

How the * is Strachan supposed to equal that kind of players with a fraction of the money (in one season).

Saying that I personally think MoN could get the best out of the 4 of them - doubt anyone else could.

wouldnt mind if we could spend the equivalent amount of money on one player nowadays.
