I think you've got a point there demd. I think vcfc has a good point emphasizing how pish we are at CM as well. I think it all comes back to the ethos Strachan has look to install though. I can imagine Burns saying to his team in the dressing room ' go out and express yourselves'; I can imagine O'Neil saying 'go out there at a good pace and get in amongst it'...I think Strachan's basic message is 'go out and keep the ball at all costs and we'll be OK'.

It is amazing how many different reasons have been mentioned for our current problems out on the park.

Just goes to show how bad things are as most of the coments made on this thread are quite revealing, coherint and make a lot of sense.

Same old 4-4-2, and WGS always plays the same players at the same positions. Jinky has a point. Change the formation and rotate the players more, and we'll be fine.

Change our manager and things will get better. At least whoever comes in will find a decent English 3rd division club for Killen and Sno.

The team are 11 individuals doing their jobs, but that is about it. To win takes more. New signings have gone from stand-outs at previous clubs to mediocre at Celtic.

To me this is a mangement problem - I suspect the players can't stand one another and are letting this affect their play.

When there is any trouble on the park, every one of them should rush to support like Man U or Arsenal always did. Remember Hartley standing up to JCD, all on his own?

Having seen Robsons press conference today he looks entirely relaxed, enjoying himself and certainly hasn't lost faith in his manager.

I've said if it comes to it and Strachan has to go for the good of the club then so be it but for me you have to give him a chance, a lot of the guys that are being over-critical for underlying reasons should take a wee step back just now and calm down. The squad he's built is talented we've just became stale hopefully he notices this to and freshens it up, he hasn't done a bad job overall at Celtic.

The boy has won the Lotto he is pushing 30 and what once looked improbable a move to his boyhood club his dream came true. No wonder he looks relaxed with 10k or so a week coming into his bank account. If I was him I would be sooking Strachen´s backside.

The epitome of how much you truelly know and how much drivel you'll fabricate to back up your weak point of view at times.

He's a good footballer that given time will be a great buy for us, he'll gather a bunch of Scotland caps and we'll all wonder why he wasn't given the move earlier. As for the dream move to his boyhood club i'll let someone else inform you of the error of your ways i take no great satisfaction in it.

As i recall you said he should go for the good of the club.
    Talk about backtracking.

You recalled wrong then what i said and still say is if it means the club progresses then he should go. Same for any player/manager/coach/board member whatever. I'm not a fan of individuals i just want to see my team do well and if it means making sacrifices along the way than so be it.

I'm still not convinced it's the right decision, but we shall see.

The first point we will have to dis-ageee on I just dont rate the guy. It is very evident that we are not strong enough in the middle of the park yet he has not been good enough to force his way in to the first team. As I said we will have to dis-agree on his abilities.

The second point I bow to your superior knowledge of that particular subject. However are you telling me at the age of 29 he is not over the moon to be playing for such an ilusterious club. Surely he must have felt the oportunity had past him buy. Hence winning the Lotto coment.

This is how it feels to be Celtic
I couldn't be bothered reading the whole thread so if someone has mentioned this then I'm sorry. I just think that whoever we play sticks basically to a 9 man defence and plays with the logic of 'as long as Celtic don't score.'
We start pushing up to try and break down an almost impossible wall of defenders and hey presto! They catch us out and score against the run of play as in the Motherwell game. We do have a problem in the CB area and I would prefer to see Balde or even Pressley alongside Mick as Mick works better with a more experienced CB beside him. People seem to forget that Caldwell is actually a defensive midfielder and played a lot of his time at Hibs in the right back position.
I think it's either Samaras OR Skippy as Sammy's movement off and on the ball is a lot like McDonald's and JVOH will regain the earlier form he had if he has a more consistant strike partner.

Riordan should have started more games in the past, but who does he replace? McGeady on the right? Skippy up front?

I think the whole team needs a big injection of confidence at the moment and that only comes with winning games. If we beat the Hun next week I think the confidence (and the support of the fans) will return in abundance.

:56: Venegoor hardly ever starts and has Hinkel not only had 1 start for Germany? Whatever they may have done internationally their performances in the SPL have been mediocre at best...

I think this is the biggest let down, the entire club has appeared to plateau under the current regime. There is a definite need to ignite the fans imagination again and give us a bit of spark, if that takes a change of manager then unfortunately for Strachan that's what it's going to have to be.

You do make me laugh Keltoi.

I will mention again that I am not slow to praise a good post when I read one. You will know this is true because there have been instances of me giving high praise indeed to posts you have made in the past. You were happy enough to take the praise for good posts so please don't expect me to hold back when you foist reams of delusional nonsense upon us.

It wasn't so long ago that you were citing me as a good example of the anti-Strachan mob because I had never called for him to be sacked and because, despite my own views on WGS, that I said that to sack a championship winning manager would be a bad thing. I said that I had a choice of liking it or lumping it, and that I would lump it. I don't think that is the behaviour of someone desperate to force others to change their mind.

I honestly do find this thread arrogant. In fact I also find it conceited and patronising. I will try and explain why. For a long time on here we have all argued about whether or not WGS was good for the club. Some folk have felt for a long time that there were genuine concerns and that things weren't as good as they appeared. Some folk, yourself included, argued that things were more optimistic. The anti-Strachan mob have given many reasons as to why they believed (despite the 2 championship and last 16) that things were not looking so good. Now that the * has hit the fan it is patently obvious to us all that some of the concerns expressed about Strachan by his detractors have in fact come to fruition. No offence Keltoi but the way things have panned out it seems quite evident that some of the things you said about how good we were have, to be blunt, been proven wrong. Things are so grim that most folk who have defended WGS have finally accepted that we've lost our way.

Now you want to work out what the problem is. Sorry but folk have been giving you reasons for months. But none of those reasons are good enough for you. Twenty-five thousand people have chosen at a few recent games to stay away from Celtic Park, because of the reasons which have been put forward on here. But those folk are all wrong, the Strachan critics on here are all wrong, their reasons are wrong. And you have to come up with some new reason to explain it all. It is vain, conceited and arrogant. It is common knowledge what is wrong with our club but that's not good enough for you. There must be some other reason that you are going to bring forth to us all. You think you can see something which all us other idiots can't. You are kidding yourself on.
