I think, realistically, we can go further in Europe. Quarter-finals of the Champions League or latter stages of the Europe League.

to all you GS lovers, i am not gonna put the man down here, so let me make some valid points.

No way is he a legend. we should not get past the fact that rangers have been * awful for his three years in charge, certainly the worst in my 28 years on this earth.

if you wanna use facts then look at our league points totals in his 3 years here, and what we could possibly get this time around. i don't think they've once eclipsed MON's totals.

this is not a put down for GS, just using facts which is what a lot of you, and wrongly in my opinion, are looking for.

football is about opinions, not just simple facts. please try and read more into the game.

and as for the rangers 9 in a row side compared to our sides at the time, we were pish, but they were a * good side. same with advocatt's side.

We can only beat what is infront of us and both sides have been alot poorer simply because there is no money in scottish football at all. MON had the chance to buy the likes of Sutton, Lennon, Hartson 3 quality players but if u look since strachan came in only Brown has came close to the transfer fee paid for those guys. Also MON got to work with Henrik, Thommo, Petrov and good defenders like Mjallby and Bobo( in his prime). That is only reason strachan hasn't passed MON highest league standing because he doesn't have the quality to work with or the chance to bring that type of quality in. Under the much tighter budget he has had some great finds. Boruc,Nakamura the two most obvious. The type of football we play is meant to try and entertain which we do at Celtic Park because there is a lot more space. Away though where its much tighter we tend to play worse and more scrappy. Its a results business and we have got the results weve needed to win the league the past 3 years and will do again this year. :shamrock::celt_2:

I don't understand why. Can assure you I'm perfectly sincere in agreeing with it.

Apart from the Stein era, Gordon Strachan's spell as Celtic manager has been our most successful since the 1st World War.

If that doesn't qualify him as a Celtic legend, then I'm not sure I understand what would...

Contradictions allround then. On one hand you beg us to "read more into the game" and on the other state the "facts" that we haven't eclipsed MON's points total.

In my opinion, this means nothing. If WGS had inherited a prime Henrik Larsson then the points totals would be much different. I wouldn't under estimate Larrsons contribution.

your reading my post all wrong.
what i'm saying is that you're only going on facts of league wins, but not how many points we took to do it.

i'm not trying to put GS down, it's too easy for some people to do.

what i'm trying to say is to put it all into perspective. i would personally put MON as a legend before GS because of how he changed the whole feeling of how a celtic supporter felt. advocatt's rangers side was a * good side. we were only hoping to get near them never mind destroy them.

this celtic side should be well ahead of rangers every season, the state they're in we should not have to worry about them. the same cannot be said of MON's five years.

if we do not win the league this year i would think of it as an absolute disgrace but, i never once felt that in the two years we lost under MON as those rangers sides would walk this league.

again i'm not putting GS down, i just don't think we can hold him in the over-the-top regards plenty on here do.

I'm hearing what you're saying - I don't think Strachans a legend yet, in fact a lot of his reputation will hang on this Championship.

The term legend is bandied around too much, even Martin O'Neill while putting the Rangers dominance on it's head, might struggle to be referred to as a legend.

Both Managers have a special place in our history, but neither are legends in my eyes. If Strachan gets me close to 9 in a row and gets us further forward in Europe then I might reconsider!

Well put mikey! None are really legends YET. I must say though this huns side are no mugs, you don't get to the final of a uefa cup if your absolute *.
