First of all I agree with you... but second of all it's because John Reid is a political figure and people get more riled up about political figures than they do football managers.

The most common argument against politicians is that they are corrupt or evil, while managers can only be incompetent. It's much easier to be angry at an evil person than one who just doesn't know how to do his job. (Disclaimer: I don't think that John Reid is evil nor that Strachan is incompetent)

 

the poppy is not political,it is a sign of respect for soldiers and civilians who died in conflict,there is a vocal minority in scotland who scream when others talk,and they are embarrassing ,they are usually,scottish socialists,solidarity,irish republican supporters and on the other side orange order and ultra unionists,that just about covers it,and if you try to discuss anything with them you get abuse 9 times out of ten.have you ever got public bus to celtic park with drunk neds,led by adults singing rebel songs and abusing anyone who asks them to stop,hows this little ditty grab you"id rather be a * than a hun"sung by * celtic fans on saturday along with rebel songs,have you ever been on the subway the day of a rangers game,scary in the extreme,we need to reclaim sport from these morons and from the politicos.come over to glasgow and ask them to be quiet and you will feel intimidated,evryone around me booed the green brigade on saturday
