Am I the only one who thought Robbie Fowler dropped off * of a quick? It's like he peaked in his early 20s then slowly went down from there.

Kerlon, was tipped to be the next big thing, earned a move to Inter Milan and just vanished.

What about that American lad Freddy Adu.... he was linked to United like 5 or 6 years ago, I think he went to Portugal for a while but ended up back in the States soon enough. There was high hopes for him.

I think Michael Owen, Joe Cole, Alan Smith come under this category.

Aye that's a really good one, absolutely amazing for Porto for like 3 seasons, went to Inter played * all.... went to Chelsea on loan, played * all and his career has been ruined ever since.

Had some amount of skill too. Moving to Serie A was incredibly stupid, natural wingers are not really appreciated or used there.

Egdar Davids is still a world class player, he's currently player manager at Barnet...

Lentini when he went to ACmilan, think it was a world record at the time.Involved in a car accident and although he came back was never the same player.I also liked David hirst at Wednesday and dean Ashton but injuries ended both careers early. At Celtic I thought wee Brian McLaughlin was going to be a world beater when he broke through under Tommy burns but think he ended up at queens park or something.

I suppose Chic Charnley could come into this bracket, potential to have been brilliant with top club (his choice would probably have been Celtic):icon_mrgreen:

    Andriy Shevchenko?

Didn't do it at Chelsea and in his return to Milan.

John Kennedy but for that horrific injury inflicted by Ganea, and despite a comeback it in effect ended a promising career in its tracks. He would have really been a great player for us and won alot of caps for Scotland. He's still only 29. :54:
