I still think this guy has only had one really bad game. Yes it was a terrible penalty and a terrible sitter but still only one game.

Other than that he's getting 20 minutes appearances and usually the tempo of the whole team is dropping at that point. Need to see more of him and give him more time. I definitely think he has more to his game than a lot of the duds he's being compared to.

Get what you're saying but it's dependent on alot of things. Generally spending 20m in England will get your some run of the mill dross like oli mcburnie. Whereas with a bit of scouting 20m could go a long way shopping on the continent or even further afield.

English clubs would spend 20m on an English player to warm their bench or sit in the stand.

We don't have that luxury and need to be alot wiser with our money. We spent 5m on a keeper recently who has turned out to be arguably our worst ever signing in terms of value for money.

Would quite gladly have seen the back of the guy after the Livi penalty miss. No doubt about that. But that was emotional thinking after blowing the chance to go top of the league for the first time in a long time.

The guy has only started two games for us and scored in one of them. His other appearances have came from the bench with less than 20 mins to play when we are seeing out a game and the whole flow of the team has been disrupted.

I’m not saying he’s great and he’s the long term answer but it’s far too early to judge what sort of impact he can have.

    Valid points indeed.
Exactly how I felt too, so raw. Imagine if he had nailed one of those chances, we would be so emotionally sky high right now.
Just reckon we need to be more ruthless and clinical, give him till Xmas and make the call then, if still unimpressed, cut losses and punt, he should see enough game time between now and Jan.

You can tell hes unfit and a lot heavier than hes ever been. Reminds me of Ajeti when he first signed, compared to this summer.
Not sure if he was injured during the summer, his knee is always strapped when he's playing for us.

Looking at those photos he does look a good stone or 3 heavier than he's used too. That makes some difference to your movement, I'd know now iv lost 4 stone myself, I'm back to ripping the pish into the younger guys with my new found speed :56:

One still image wearing horizontal stripes doesn’t prove anything. There are other photos of him in the hoops where he looks fine.

20million to an English club is about £2million to a club like Celtic to be fair.
They also get what they pay for in that respect.

Didn't do preseason with the Dutch club by the looks of things.
They played 4 league games before he signed for us, never featured at all for them.

Found it odd at the time.

But doesn't(didn't at the time) seem like he was injured. But then, wouldn't put it past us to sign an injured player. Would explain at least the injury during warm up he had.

This was after watching his highlights. If you watch them and then compare him to us.
It's similar to Ajeti from last season and this season, weight wise.

Hes also playing like someone who has lost their touch.
Isn't used to the extra weight.
If you watch his highlights he looks lean and far from slow.

He was out over the summer with a shoulder injury so didn't have a proper pre-season under his belt when we signed him, then remember he was meant to be just about getting up to sharpness at the end of spetember but pulled something in the warm up before a game so we had Ajeti starting instead, pretty disrupted start so still far too early to judge for me. Hadn't really noticed the knee thing myself, transfermarkt has a cruciate ligament injury for him like 5 years ago so I guess it's a precaution related to that, but doesn't look like he's actually had any bother with it since.

Aye you're right. I'm definitely about giving him time. I'm just hoping he can get fully fit.
I know highlights are exactly that, but he looks a totally different player last season. Sharp and a lot quicker.

Hopefully, with the int break, guy has been working his socks off to improve his fitness.
We really need this guy to be firing on all cylinders right now, otherwise we are going to be totally reliant on the Gogo, not ideal considering the hectic schedule we have in the next few months before Jan window.
Is there going to be a mid season break this season in Jan?

Another * that looks like he will spend more time on the Physios table than on the pitch.

I think Giakoumakis injury shows the importance of getting another decent striker in January (hopefully Maeda). We are a Kyogo injury away from being stuck with Ajeti. And that thought depresses me.
