I think he looks a good player.

I do agree Kyogo has to be played through the middle.

    Brings something different.

With strikers though they need regular games to get into the swing of it and I don't see how he gets it with kyogo being through the middle.

Needs to be in the team tbh, goalscorers are hard to find and his all round play looks decent , think this team would be superb , jota and kyogo could play through middle and out wide which would give defences problems , also 3 cbs gives us more protection

Not for Wednesday but on Saturday where we will be against a parked bus I would go.

    ———————-Hart
    Juranovic—CCV—-Starfelt—Scales
    ———Turnbull———McGregor
    Jota—————Kyogo———Johnston
    ——————Giokoumakis

Left back is Livi have a big team and set plays could be vital given how deep they play. He has scored a few headers so could be useful in their box.

He is an Ange signing so he must have some plan for it.

Perhaps as part of a striking partnership, playing the Sutton role, behind Kyogo, holding up, flicking on, feeding Kyogo or mopping up and being there for crosses?

A 4-4-2 with a big-man little-man strike partnership sounds like the antithesis of Ange's philosophy though.

But in the same instance AP is someone who does not sway from his tactics and that will not involve a two up front striking partnership.

It would be interesting to know from the stats lads how many times across his managerial career he's ever gone 2 up top.

A 4-4-2 etc is not something we will see under him.

People’s obsession with playing a 352 on here is bizarre at times.

Kyogo through the middle is definitely the default, but GG is goanny get plenty of game time so it's a case of what works best depending on who the opponent is I think.

In Europe for example, we won't face packed defences so Kyogo up top is the obvious shout. But if and when we need GG's physical presence domestically where do we put Kyogo? I don't think he should be out wide for two reasons...he's not been effective and also we have plenty of proper wingers to choose from now (with more to come back from injury).

Would at least like to see how it goes with Kyogo playing off GG but as I said, I can't see Ange going for it. All very good problems to have mind you, what * difference a few weeks can make.

Can't really argue with that. Just trying to guess a way it might work.

I like his work rate. It's something we miss when Kyogo isn't leading the line. Just makes us less reliant on the man from Japan, thankfully.

Not exactly- we can still have a high line with a forward press, which is easier with 2 strikers. It's just that passing out from the back will have to be sped up.

Apparently Ange used 3-5-2 with Australia, according to certain posters. So, there is a feasible way to go 2 up front.

I'd like to see Kyogo played as a number 10 for a game or two with McGregor and Turnbull further back. He's clearly ineffective out wide and does a lot of running back into midfield anyways to win the ball. Would give Giakoumakis the chance to get a few goals under his belt.

Genuinely baffled at the calls to move Kyogo based on about 100 mins of Giakoumakis. He's looked decent and scored a nice goal at the weekend, but let's see more of him before even contemplating moving our most important attacker around to accommodate him.

For me, unless he proves to be undroppable in time, he's the perfect plan B type striker. There to allow us to mix it up if our usual game isn't paying off. Kyogo central with two of Jota/Forrest/Abada/Johnston wide has to be the way to go.

To me, this whole question isn’t a big deal. We play 50+ games a season. There’s no need to play anyone out of position; just rotate.

Rotating doesn’t have to mean that he won’t get a regular enough game to build momentum.

Look at Big John when Henrik had his partnership with Sutton. He would rotate in and out often enough that he was usually sharp.

And Ange has emphasized a million times by now that there will be rotations. This whole conversation is redundant if people just listen to what Ange has been saying for months now about rotations.
