Was a good deal all round, provided us with some good service and we make our outlay and a little more back. Should do well in that league. All the best big man

Unhappy dressing rooms worse than getting rid of him. It's a brilliant move by ange. Keep him and he causes the entire team to implode. Not worth the risk. Whorver we put upfront will score. If OH is clinical then I'd argue he'll score more than GG. Plus his penaltys was absolutely disgusting. Could possibly be up there as the worst penalty taker in celtic history. Livingston missing *.

Think we’ll miss him but hopefully Oh can hit the ground running when needed. He’s worth far more than £3.5M, that’s a steal for Atlanta.

He’ll be top scorer in MLS.

    Meh.

Maybe there is a bitterness to me, but given where he's moved to and his entire career thus far and age...I don't think he'll be missed that much. As there is something obviously within the game that has led to him getting zero interest in any main European league.

But of course I appreciate in saying that, I can easily be torn down by those who'd say he was top scorer which admittedly really creates a cognitive dissonance for me.

Especially when I think about other threads I was commenting I the other in my support for Dembele over Edouard.

Giorgos Giakoumakis is being hailed as the Greek * that can shoot Atlanta United to Major League Soccer glory after leaving Celticin a £4million deal.

A lot of Hoops fans reckon the striker is taking a step down by heading Stateside and there is no doubt that a lot of football fans still look down their noses at the game in America.

However, former Celtic and St Mirren star Lewis Morgan says Giakoumakis is in for a rude awakening if he thinks he can skate it in the season ahead. Talking exclusively to Scottish Daily Express Sport, the New York Red Bulls attacker has revealed just how tough it is to compete and be successful in what he reckons is becoming one of the strongest leagues in the world.

Morgan said: “I know that his numbers were good at Celtic but that doesn’t really matter. This league is a completely different kettle of fish.

“There are no guarantees in this league, the standard is so high. I’m sure Atlanta will be hoping he comes in and does what he has done over the last couple of years. But as I say this league is very tough and very demanding. We have some world class players here and everyone finds it difficult.

“Of course, we’re in the same conference as Atlanta so hopefully he doesn’t make them any stronger!"

He said: “Look I get it, Celtic and Rangers are Champions League clubs. It’s the pinnacle to play at the top table and that’s what he was doing.

“I’m a massive fan of Scottish football and it’s been great to see more teams in Europe. Rangers have done remarkably well, in particular, in recent years.

But I truly believe – and I don’t want to sound disrespectful – that the standard over here, outside of these top clubs, would surprise everyone.

“The budgets over here would blow every Scottish team out of the water – apart from the big two.

I think that the MLS is now so strong that it is just below the top five leagues in the world.

    He’s got a point though

There’s a lot of * who still look down on smaller leagues

It was the same when we went to the lower leagues of England for players

Lewis Morgan was so rubbish that his mum had a meltdown on social media over the criticism he was getting.

Pipe down, Lewis. You can’t even get into a terrible Scotland squad.

It would have been nice to keep him but he's essentially been a journeyman throughout his career and this is just the next move for him. 28 years old with a family, moving to the states, likely a big wage hike - can't really hold it against him.
