I respect that mate, and I’m like it myself. I shouldn’t have been as personal with it as I was at the start, but part of me being outspoken is calling out things that I find unfair - which I think on a public forum is pretty fair game tbh. Couldn’t care less if folk think that’s me ‘fighting someone else’s battles’. Like yourself, I’d rather have integrity in what I’m saying and guys can think what they like.

Describing Giakoumakis’ situation as “still sort of in the balance”, it is unlikely to remain so before the window closes on Tuesday at midnight. “There are only two days to go and with Michael not taking my calls any more I’m not really sure what’s going on the background. I assume everything will be resolved in the next couple of days, one way or another. As it stands right now nothing is definite in terms of his next move.”

I doubt Hamish has been told something as he doesn’t often comment on transfers before they have happened, 67 hail hail are more a fan news or opinion than claiming to be in the know.

Love GG and appreciate his contribution but if the rumours are true I can't help but feel Ange is cleverly making an example out of him.

The idea being that "if you're not happy to be here we don't want you here" or "it should feel like a privilege to be at Celtic" sort of thing is paramount - the team is more important than the individual, etc. Showing GG the door is a good way of signalling to the rest that if they are not on board, they can get themselves Tae *.

It's a bit brutal but totally agree with it. That's how you run a dressing room. It will give other players pause for thought when offers from other clubs come along.

Whether that is Ange's intention or not it certainly comes across that way. I have and was very quickly a big Giako fan and am sad it has not worked out for him to be at Celtic long term but Ange is doing it right by selling him under these circumstances.

Suppose it’s better to make an example of a player that is not worth a * of allot. Hopefully deters Jota and CCV from jumping at the first opportunity

Would you care to disclose your source on the statement regarding the process of signing Giakoumakis and Ange’s thoughts on it?

Or is this another example of someone kidding on they have a direct line to the decision makers at the club?

What he said before the game last week about players that want to be first choice won't win trophies and play at a high level....totally aimed at Giakoumakis, and anyone else who feels that way.

Bit of a weird move but I disagree that it’s a terrible one.

Telling folk at the airport the other day he was leaving but wouldn’t be going to the MLS, now he’s going there? Seems a bit all over the place the whole situation I hope it works out for him. MLS will be a better standard than here these days but no European football and probably no move to a top 5 league now, this was his best opportunity to go to one you would think.

According to information from SDNA, Celtic have accepted the proposal of Atlanta United for the acquisition of Giorgos Giakoumakis with the Greek forward preparing for the trip to the other side of the Atlantic!
As SDNA first wrote, the 28-year-old forward had agreed to continue his career at Atlanta United, however the deal initially did not go ahead, since the MLS club wanted a loan and not an immediate transfer of the former Eredivisie top scorer.

At the same time, Celtic had found everything with Urava Red Diamonds, with the Japanese offering 3.5 million euros for the acquisition of the Heraklion forward!

Atlanta, however, at the last moment made the "checkmate" move, managing to unlock a "Designated Player" position on behalf of Giorgos Giakoumakis.

Each team in the American league has the right to exceed the salary cap for only three of its players in order to make the transfer. Atlanta's new proposal was extremely tempting offering 3.8 million euros plus 900,000 euros from participation bonuses, goals, etc.

The specific offer was accepted by Angelos Postecoglou's team and now the former AEK player is counting down to the official announcement of the transfer.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that someone arriving as a 28-year-old with not much room for development and without an impressive CV besides the single season was never intended to be a moneymaker. I think you would agree this makes logical sense, or at least I hope you do.

Shame he appears to have spat the dummy out so soon. Edouard fell out of favour when it became apparent he wanted away but atleast we had a few good seasons out him.

So it’s an opinion presented as fact.
